Seventh lady might be Nazret Weldu, twice top 8 at Worlds. 6th here last year, holds her NR for the 400 as a 17yo
Next could be bronze medallist at 2023 Worlds, Fatima Gardadi. PB of 2.24.12 when second in Xiamen this last Jan.
Ninth should be Judith Jeptum Korir after she warms up by pacing Nagoya. Had a stellar year in 2022 with a PB of 2.18.20 when second at Worlds and a fourth in London. Last year was 2 places further back in the British capital.
Fifth female might be Mary Ngugi who has four top 7 finishes in majors, including two podiums here. What will be her legacy, moving forward? Could with a better placing be the most unlikely recipient of an Olympic invitation. Or will she better be remembered as the wife of Sammy Wanjiru and his tragic demise.
Next may be Ababel Yeshaneh, five times a top 6 finisher at a major: two of them here. Selected in front of Weldu, Gardadi, and Orjuela because they are already qualified for Paris and might focus their energies there?
I misjudged Nazret Weldu and her Olympic qualification. Needs a top 5 now here with all other avenues closed and is capable
Next is Shura Kitata, four times top 2 at a major. I chose him in front of Geay, Osaka, and Mpofu because they have bigger fish to fry in Paris. More stats soon
Kitata was poor here last year but quality third in NY. PB of 2.04.49 when second in London in 2018

Also 2nd in RAK was John Korir, 9th in Boston last year, he's started this year well first on XC (2nd at North Rift champs behind Zakayo) and now 58:50 HM. Consistent performer in Chicago the last 2 years - 2:05 low. Brother is 2012 Boston champ Wesley Korir
Next lady could be Worknesh Degefa, who is well in the mix to represent Ethiopia in Paris. In fact, like Lemma among the men, has the runs already on the board and may harm her selection chances with an off day so soon after Valencia. Won here in 2019 and ran her PB of 2.15.51 in winning in the Spanish city in Dec.

Withdrawn. A couple of additions of little consequence, two Americans trying to place outside the top ten!
