Hovering a line over a chart is not an official opening price. Every source I provided has the opening price. This is why you have a reputation as a liar.
As someone said, it was the news of revenue outlook that tanked the stock prior to the open. I think that the Pfizer stock could get pulled up quite a bit if the overall market rockets higher over the next 3-6 months.
No predictions. I day trade and swing trade futures, but don't make long-term predictions on the market. I have a bullish bias for the next 3-6 months, but could be wrong.
The vaccines worked really well. Boosters are recommended but the data show they are certainly not necessary for long-term protection against severe disease. Nobody thought COVID revenue would last... except Pfizer (they claim).
Pfizer has a reputation for these kind of boom-bust, hire-fire business cycles. Certainly many would argue it's poor corporate stewardship.
Pfizer's price peaked in January 2022 when the relatively mild Omicron pretty much infected half the population. The vaxxed thought, "Well, that didn't prevent covid" and the unvaxxed thought, "Hey, that wasn't so bad." As a result, sales of the vaccine tanked.
The share price has been in a steady downtrend since then. The more recent decline could be linked to Pfizer's announcement on December 1st that their new anti-obesity pill will not advance from Phase 2 clinical trials because it made people sick.
Omicron came after most people finished their 3 shot series. The data showed those doses provided excellent protection.
The only people 'surprised' by the fall off in COVID revenues are the nutjobs who were screaming about 'endless shots' and whatnot. They are awfully quiet now.
Anyway the vaccine saved millions of lives and made some people very wealthy. On to the next breakthrough.

When was the Pfizer revenue outlook released? By the company?
I did find:
Pfizer's stock price fell sharply on Wednesday, Dec. 13, after management issued guidance for 2024 that wasn't nearly as good as Wall Street expected. Why Pfizer stock fell Pfizer stock fell about 8% when the market opened on Dec. 13 in a knee-jerk reaction to forward-looking estimates that didn't align with Wall Street's predictions.
