I see a few speculative marks from the D1/D2 teams, but after what the Gophers did at the USA XC meet last weekend, they're believable. Duluth has had some coaching changes so I think they'll run much faster than we expect. They only lost to Augustana by four at conference which is serious improvement.
Of course Power is going to throw an Ole alum into the fast heat even though he told coaches he wants to keep heats less than 18. The alumni hate him enough. They would hate him even more if the Brenk flies in to run fast and has to run from the front of the second heat.
The two sub 15 guys left out of the fast heat have nothing to complain about. One was 41st in the Regional and has a PR of 15:11. The other was 57th and has never been under 16:00.
If Power were a better meet director he'd research PR's and kick guys back a heat like they do at BU. But it could be worse, If this was a St. Thomas meet everyone would be in one heat.
