There are several of us that are happy that it is being run at noon. I called both Jon Hughes and Max and let them know this fact. The tougher the better.
bro orlando is an enormous travel destination between disney & a bustling convention economy. the us marathon trials are pretty low on list of concerns for "the tourism lobby"
But for some reason Orlando's the holdout. I hope it won't be before 9am though. So the grinders who do well in heat can have some of that to their benefit.
Update from meeting w/ Max & @usatf on Trials start time:
Everyone is willing to move earlier except LOC, @GreaterORLSport . Even @nbc is willing to broadcast live earlier.
Counting on Orlando to protect the integrity of the event and put athletes’ safety first!

I have given Jon Hughes number to 15 other qualifiers that support a NOON start. I believe there are close to as many qualifiers that will make just as much noise if they change it. We all knew it was a NOON start 6 months before the event and have made expensive life adjustments.

I'm completely confused about the qualification standards for the Olympics.
We have two guys with the time standard.
Then, a number of guys who will likely get in through the rankings.
If none of them are top 3, is it possible that we have no one running?
Is it possible, even likely, that we leave Orlando not knowing who or how many are running in the Games?
