I'm 45 years old and it's difficult for me to maintain an erection when I'm doing my usual training. But I find that, if I take just one or two days off running and eat a little extra, that I can then maintain my erections much more easily. Does this happen to anyone else? Any suggestions? Thanks.
I could train less or eat more on a daily basis but I would prefer to not do this.

For me, a decreased sex drive is one of the first signs of overtraining. So I usually back off a bit, there are more important things to smash than the competition at your local 5k.
Why would you want an erection when training? Is that your fetish?

If you're being harassed or stalked by
A woman or women you deem unattractive, that can lead to not being able to get it up at any point as well. But if that's not the case, you're probably worn down/tired and/or have lowered T from distance running. Lifting weights helps increase T to combat that problem. You could try T r T if you're rich but I wouldn't recommend it. Not worth it.
The question is who are you maintaining erections for???

The OP was probably of the understanding that this was a message board of mature runners where there people sharing some of the good thing and some of the not so good thing associated with running. He should know that this place is also frequented by d!ckheads.
Those of us over 45 that are still active and wanting of some good running actually appreciate this kind of information.
Since you also post on MMA and Boxing forums you're obviously a tough guy, though you're most likely a fat, Cheeto eating, keyboard warrior.

Definitely a legit concern. At a very basic level: Think of testosterone as making you want sex and ED meds will insure you can get'r done. But it is most probably not the low T that is your culprit. A daily dose (2.5mg) of tadalafil (the only active ingredient in Cialis) will solve your issue. Tadalafil is a great vasodilator (look it up) which helps with more than just your erection. You should know by now that ED is not a bad or embarrassing thing; same with waning testosterone. We men are all subject to these things as we get older.
