Everything about that interview last night played out perfect, also Nguses reply "maybe im closer than u think" ;)
Im a bit unsure though if Jakob was a bit afraid too gamble with Nguse so close, he turned his head several times the last time and was "surprised" that he was still there... maybe he safed a bit in fear of losing the race?
Too fast, they are in 3:26-27 shape while the rest are in 3:29-31 shape.
Yared is not in true 3:27 shape. More like 3:28 shape with 1609m of perfect pacing.
You’re getting downvoted by I agree. Ngeny ran 3:43 in the race of his life behind El G’s world record, and his 1500m best is “only” 3:28.12. Nuguse can blow away his 3:29.0 PB but he is not in 3:26 shape, maybe 3:27-high. Not that that takes anything away from him as he just obliterated the AR and is the 4th fastest miler ever.
Is Sowinsky even capable of a 2:17-2:18 1000 right now?
Yes, Jakob was a great pacer for Yared, but Erik for Jakob? Good but like Jakob said, taking him through 1000 would have been really nice since they were fighting headwinds on the backstretch.

Listen to the Ritz post-race interview. The insinuation is that Yared may not have given as much to "another 1500m" race whereas he was amped to run a mile. That being said, there's no guarantee that Nuguse would have run 3:27 yesterday had this been a 3:27 race. Nuguse, himself, even mentions that the 1500m to mile conversions are as accurate as they should be.
