It's pretty hilarious that you people think that was a good race for her. She was terrified to go with the pacer because she knew she wasn't ready. She was lucky that everyone else was more terrified of her than she was of them; had they pushed her and went with the pace, the result would have been different.
Everyone out here making excuses for her is classic LRC. A world champion opening her season 3 seconds slower than her main rival 2 weeks before championships and ya'll are pretending like that's perfectly normal.
That was NOT a good race/result. She's not in a good place mentally. She raced like garbage and is going to get smoked by Keely. In 2 weeks, If someone grows a pair and takes it to her in the first lap and runs that kick out of her, she won't win

It’s not about how the season starts. It’s about how it finishes. The past two years Mu has finished as the CHAMPION while Keely has had to settle for second. I hope Keely likes silver because that’s all she’ll ever get in a championship race against Mu!
Holy crap. How talented is this woman!? 10th fastest time in the world being scared, with a hitch, looking like absolute garbage? Keely has absolutely no chance!!!

The pacer ran the first 200 in 26.5, which is way too fast. You should know that. Of course Athing Mu and other women weren't going to go out that fast.
And yes, if all the other women had run right behind the 26.5 pacer, the race would have been different because they all would have died.
Fortunately, unlike you, those women are smart enough not to run the first 200 in 26.5 .

Not in a good place mentally? Where do you come up with this stuff?
If Athing "not in a good place mentally" Mu won the race by 2 seconds, can you please use your amateur psychiatry skills to analyze all the women who finished more than 2 seconds behind her? Maybe you believe that because they ran much slower they are all in a really bad place mentally?
Your analytic skills aren't nearly as good as you imagine they are.

Why do you keep posting ideas that make no sense?
LMAO!
You don't know the first thing about running a fast women's 800. And yeah, it takes a bit to sort out and the pacer has to get out fast, but settling in after that initial 200 is what Mu should have done; what she would have done if she was confident. The 200 split in Paris was also 26xx and Keely didn't have a problem getting back on it for the first 400.
What a bunch of 🐑 Mu apologists. I love seeing black women being supported on this site for a change instead of being torn apart (See Sha'Carri), but you have all reached irrational fanboy overload with MU. Any other world champion running like that would have been labeled WASHED!
I know that you are NOT Mu's therapist. So you actually don't know that "she's not in a good place mentally" as you claim.
I also know that you said she wouldn't break 1:59 today, and you were wrong.
I also know that you said she might not make the World Championship team this year, and you were also wrong about that, because you don't know enough about track to know that Mu is ALREADY on the team.
You wrong about a lot of things. But unfortunately it never stops you from posting more wrong stuff.

A 1:58 opener in a debut win is a good result.
No one would say Brazier was washed if he WON the race today by 2 seconds over Hoppel but only ran 1:45.
It was clearly a "wash away the cobwebs" type race for Mu. Her winning margin over the other top American women was impressive, but her time was 'ok'. It was a good confidence booster ahead of the Nationals, where it will be interesting to see how seriously she takes whichever event she ends up running.
As for AM v KH, at present, KH is clearly in fantastic form, and ahead of where AM is. We have a number of weeks until Budapest though. I do think, however, that KH & others will not allow AM to jaunter around the track as she pleases as she did here. KH will want a fast pace from the gun. Moraa may also throw a spanner in the works. In 21 & 22 AM was allowed to dictate. The rest of the world have (hopefully) cottoned on to that.
