When I went to school we knew who was on a full ride because they got physio work done after practice (basically a massage). The rest of us had to use a stick roller in the training room lol

Yes, Wetmore has given out at least one full ride I’m aware of to an incoming male freshman (several years back). No, this person was neither a footlocker champ nor a sub-4 high schooler. No, that does not mean he gives out full rides regularly. Arguably the most successful male distance runner to come out of the US high school system in recent history was only offered half tuition.
So why go there if you are so good that other excellent programs will give you 100% (or is it the same everywhere)?
You see this all the time
The term "full ride" is rarely used by college employees in the coaching world. They usually use the term "package"
They gather information regarding a recruit of interest, and based on the family income, the student's grade, and in (T&F) times and/or jumps, distance thrown etc. It is in the best interest of the school to offer a less package to a family that is well off financially, and alittle more to the same talented athlete of a family less fortunate in income, a much nicer amount of tutition picked up by the school. too many parents run around saying " my kid got a full scholarship", when in fact, their kid got a package.
Again, these are also depending on the sport. Revenue generating sports tend to justify for more packages and many more full packages, due to the income stream from that sport that will offset those e tution expenses picked up by the school.
Football and basketball are the sports in large D1 programs that can offer 30-40 full packages, because a school like Oregon, Stanford or Alabama, will generate milions and millions in revenue from those two sports.

Interesting. I’m assuming the CU coaching staff would not be happy with an incoming male freshman making the claim he has a “full ride” for running? Recent grad from the Denver metro, who committed very late, is making that claim to anyone who will listen.
