She is not running 4:19 unless she was making a conscious effort to go slow.
Flockhart of Providence wins heat 2 in 4:15.90. Penn and Ayyildiz 2nd and 3rd. 4:10 runner Schein-Becker finishes 6th and will need a time qualifier
She controlled the slow pace but seemed to really have to work hard in first 100 to get to lead on the pole.
Alexandra Carlson also in heat 2. Ran a 4:31 mile indoors but only has a 4:18 best in the 1500 this season
Wow Schein-Becker is out. Flockhart looked so comfortable on her last lap, running ~62
heat 3
There's 4 time qualifiers she can still be one of
Need to get the lead in these shorter races.
Heat 3 as slow as heat 1 so far
Or use the Jakob strategy
Slower at 800
Maatoug tried to move up but still boxed in.
So far first q will heat 4 run fast?

4:19.09 will get through.
no favorites go down in the 1500. Carlson the biggest name but she hadn't had the best outdoor season in this race.
