this is a good one.
ventolin expertise was not in the same category as Renato, vern wasn't a coach, or much of an athlete, so there was a reality gap.
Vent analyzed races, wasn't even a proper mathematician, but had a practical interpoltion curve fit for actual performance, which is one of the better ones out there, and maybe the best.
the mo farah calc of 328 was a good one.
people need to realize almost no athlete produces a perfect run at peak.
and that proper speculation / science is more close to the truth than the facts.
for example, ryun world record
front run, slow to 1km, cinders, shoes, heat ...
and was this a peak ryun??
and ryun set the WR on the 800 at age 19, 144.3.. cinders, suboptimal pace, etc. etc.
and no one peaks at age 19, it is age 22 minimum.
hence the speculation about ryun.
at the end of the day, the interval training that allowed ryun to come to boil and achieve what he did, was the down fall, and damaged him badly in the long run.
