This thread was originally titled, "Incredible development in the $612,000 Transcon Goodge run, currently ongoing" but the new title is more descriptive. The description of the run is here.
This thread isn't written by "boys". These are 50-70 year old men attacking a 20-something year old PJ with fake accusations of "cheating" that I've repeatedly disproven simply because they are jealous of his youth and vigor.
Wow, I'm so awesome that what I wrote about you and your group and the Reddit thread is actually true. The Reddit Mod that locked the thread wrote that you and your group are toxic (amongst other color words) and resigned:
Wow, now there is a second Reddit mod posting in response to the toxicity of you and your group against PJ that they are going to delete the all transcon threads and disallow them in /r/ultrarunning. You guys really screwed yourselves over and I didn't even post in the Reddit thread! PJ wins!!!
Yeah I definitely don't fully buy the weather excuses. I saw the stories you've mentioned too, he looked AWFUL getting out the van earlier, but then again I look like that after my normal naps.
It is interesting that after a full day of legitimate running (had people with him all day), he looks ruined.
Lowkey intrigued to see how he ends up faring at Boston after all these brutal days.
I love that when this all started you guys were accusing PJ of cheating because he looked too handsome to be an ultrarunner. And now you do the exact opposite and say he is cheating because "he looked AWFUL". No matter if PJ looks great and energetic or if he looks tired and torn, you always say he is cheating in every scenario.
My guy, why do you keep talking about his looks? Pretty weird. Unless you’re his mom, which would make sense based on how much time you’ve devoted to defending him on this thread

You are very odd. I didn’t say he was cheating, I described his previous days run as legitimate as we know for a fact it was because people ran with him all day.
I don’t think the data is conclusive one way or another, never have.
The Sunday run is even more suspicious. There are no cadence drop outs all day while he’s running accompanied by local runners. AS SOON as they leave, the cadence drop outs start and his HR lowers significantly. Very, very strange.
Let me prove you wrong once again. Even if you didn't download the 1 second interval data, this time you can clearly see that in the last part of that day, PJ dropped from the 8-10 minute/mile pace down to 15-19 minute/miles in the simplified Strava graphs. For those of us that actually run and not here just to attack PJ, 15-19 minute/mile pace is a slow walking pace, hence why PJ's heart rate also goes down. Coupled with the use of trekking poles and Garmin watches widely known to cut out at low cadence or low swings, the cadence drop outs are expected.
Is it any wonder that the Reddit thread got locked when you guys can't even accept the facts and kept making up fake accusations that are not in the data?
I was on the live feed yesterday afternoon (various times between 2-4pm Pacific) watching him walking with trekking poles. He had 4-5 people out pacing him and guess what? His cadence is a near perfect 120-124 all afternoon (Hour 7+). No large dropouts or 0s. I don't need any special analysis to see that.
Why is his cadence data clean when he's on camera using trekking poles and suspect when he's not? I can't prove that he's cheating, but I can prove that when he walks with trekking poles on camera, his cadence is 120.
Now tell me, what happened with his cadence for the last 20+ miles on March 22? It's not just trekking poles.

This is great work. It shows very clearly that poles cannot be the explanation to the cadence drop-outs. We now have 100% confirmed (video evidence) that when he is using poles and the data doesn’t show cadence drop outs.
So, what are the other possible reasons for the cadence drop outs? I can’t think of any apart from the obvious

Several questions were asked to determine what mile he was on, time of day, etc so we could compare the data and they definitely avoided answering any of those questions.
Its definitely not the treking poles thats been proven based on earlier data and previous races!
I find it unlikely he even finishes at this point. Alongside Boston, which people have mentioned before, it's important to remember that PJ is an instructor at Newport. Shockingly, he still has work responsibilities, and he will actually be needed back after the 50-day mark, especially with current staffing issues. I anticipate an "injury" in Illinois/Indiana.

Pretty crazy over there to watch. The first mod quit! The second mod seems way more level headed, trying really hard to accommodate - tried to create a new space, then opened the thread asking for civility, and he's still getting downvoted to hell. You'd think they would love that guy, it's clear he's trying to help, but nope. They have some crazy mob mentality going on where it's full on attack mode if they perceive you aren't on their side. Hard to argue it's not toxic watching them even attack that mod. Has reddit become more toxic than LRC?

I heard from current students that leadership may have let him do this as “TAD” with no leave charged because it’s “good PR for the navy”

My leadership could never. Guess the influencer status pays dividends. He's still nowhere near as outrageous as Kellie Sbrocchi

And now the Reddit mods have even deleted their own comments with the resignation and the one that called out the toxicity of PJ's accusers. Guess PJ's accusers also attacked the Reddit mods.
