You have to be pretty effed up to support the armed robber and attempted murderer over a very old granny just defending her food truck. Shame on you, Liberals.
The robber tried to murder her for a few bucks (see the article; he tried to fire but the gun jammed). The world is a little bit better without him.
Ok, so even if we assume that he would have shot and killed her, we have two scenarios: one where he dies, and one where she dies. One life lost either way. Literally equivalent.
Do you two lovers not realize that all our rights are protected by the Second Amendment? Let that sink in.
Also, the granny who shot the guy is a black woman who was the robber? Was he white or black? It doesn't matter, he was the bad guy. The good guy/gal with the gun won.
This is a gross oversimplification of human nature. He was a human being. He made a bad decision, but he shouldn't have been killed for it. I'm not sure how I would live with myself if I fatally shot someone. This woman took a life. She'll have to grapple with that for the rest of her life.

He was a human being who was about to take her life and he had the misfortune of a misfire and she seized the opportunity and shot him before he shot her.
What level of stupidity do you have to sink to to not understand that? Now he is a dead human being because he chose 40, 60, $100 as the sum value worth of his life. He made that choice.
Please don't have kids because I already know how you vote. You've screwed our country up, don't screw up kids, too.
So a situation where likely no one would have died turned into a situation where someone died. And this is a net positive for you?
I'm sure her detailed knowledge of firearms should have reassured her that all further attempts by the robber to fire the weapon would have failed. Unfortunately, you were not at the scene of the crime to point this out to her (although I take your use of the word "likely" to indicate that even your own personal omniscience might possibly have failed in this situation).

Yes, she will, and it's foolish for people who have no idea what that is like to dismiss it, even in this clearly justified situation. Any competent concealed carry instructor will tell their students not to go looking for trouble, and if possible to try to de-escalate a situation first, for that reason as much as all the other good ones.
the reason to have assault rifles is not to protect ourselves from other people, it's so we can protect ourselves from the government in case they ever become antagonistic. In that sense we do need powerful weapons because the government certainly has strong weapons. I'm not saying I'm supporting anarchy, but the founding fathers knew it was possible this country would become tyrannical and gave the people a way to combat that.

How's your backyard underground bunker build going? Let me know on your HAM radio please.

Way to stick up for the criminals! So stunning, so compassionate.
No, this guy was trying to murder her, and she defended herself. This was very cut-and-dry self defense, no guilt needed on the part of the innocent person defending themselves. If you are trying to murder someone, it is the moral thing for you to be killed to save innocent life. All death or killing is not immoral.
