There could always have been a change of plans, but i doubt she had actually discussed anything with Henes past nationals and was just going off of the schedule and that she ran it last year.
What she said in the post NCAA 3000 interview was "We've got Raleigh Relays coming up we're hosting. Hosting ACCs again. We are looking to running fast in Raleigh this season." Some of those doubling or tripling will be pacers no doubt. Tuohy's races may be limited to special fast races this season such as Stanford or Mt Sac, or the like, or a team event like Penn Relays. As many have noted she really does not have competition in the NCAA. Why race now when she actually ran a number of races (7?) in the last 2 months. Very different than a year ago when she only ran 3 races in January-mid March.
I guess the plan might be to just give Tuohy a ~6 week break after the indoor season, to rest up. Then she'll likely run at Penn Relays, ACC Championships.
I suppose. It just seems strange since Tuohy mentioned in her post race interview that raleigh was next and she was looking forward to running fast there...

That's exciting. This will be Markezich's first 5k. I did not realize that she and Andrea Markezich of Wash are identical twins btw. Her sister has been more focused on the long distances it seems.

I'm just speculating. Of course, Henes talks about how their general philosophy with all their athletes is not to race them too much and burn them out. Maybe since Tuohy had a little bit of a heavy indoor season (relatively, and especially compared to some of the other NC State distance runners), they decided to rest her some after indoors. I'm a little disappointed she will not race in this meet as I live in the Raleigh area and was planning on making it out there to see some of the meet in person. But fortunately, the ACC outdoor Championships are being hosted by NC State this season, here in a couple months.
Can you go anyway and stream and/or film it? :) *high-five*
Probably resting her. Or maybe she plans to run something like the Stanford Invite.
I mean its not like Tuohy is going to have any issue posting an NCAA qualifying time in either the 1,500 or 5,000 meter race -- more a matter of the "when" and "where" and appears the choice was not to make that effort this coming weekend here in Raleigh but choose a race/event at some other point here in the outdoor season.

ACCNX shows it on their schedule
Of which I do not have.
I’ve mentioned before, I spend over $100 a month (yes, literally), on all these subscriptions, and I just can’t justify spending more (‘cause I keep justifying it all the time and that’s how it’s gotten to over $100). Not when there are only a couple of times per year I’d ever watch it.

if there is a race or two you really want to see I will see what I can do (quietly)

The Wolfpack fan that used to show the races on his YouTube doesn’t seem to anymore. (Can’t remember his name, but I have him on my subscriptions list somewhere).

I'm still planning on going. I live only about a 35 minute drive away from the NC State campus. Sure, I might record a few short videos, then tweet them out and post here in the forum.
