He's not in top shape for the half this weekend but he's still dreaming big.

Good for him. Go get it big dawg.
LFG!
In before the haters. He's still got some years left!
He is just 36.
That's the new 25
I have a comment that would have made Salazar and Vin very unhappy, but I’ll leave it unstated…
And Kipchoge is over 45 years old and just set a new marathon world record. Rupp has plenty of years left to go faster than ever before.
The probability of him running a lot faster in the marathon is "certainly" less than 1% and the probability of him setting a PR is also "certainly" less than 1%. He has had an amazing career, and its good that he still believes in himself. But unfortunately, it's just wishful thinking. The results of his races for the last several years "certainly" shows that his best days are "certainly" behind him, as his times "certainly" keep getting slower and slower and slower.
Are you having a stroke?
Kipchoge was 18 in 2003.

1984 Olympic Champ Carlos Lopes was 37 after coming back from Achilles injury.

Ability wise, I think Rupp can PR. The issue is, and this is similar to KB: during their primes, they went long stretches (year after year) with no material training interruptions.
If Rupp could put together 12-18 months, he could PR and / or medal again in the Olympics.
If 40 year old Washed KB can run 2:05 I think Rupp can still PR
hats off to you....best to come

He was also able to dope earlier in his career. Has to be more careful now.
Rupp certified all day baby !!!
LFG!!!
If the OT 'thon is the big target, that would seem to point towards an early fall marathon. Time for PR at Berlin?

Yep, sadly it's over. Take him behind the barn and shoot him.

Maybe Galen is lying about his age tho.
I’m by no means a Rupp fan but he definitely has been better than his PR for awhile now. He’s ran better in championship style races and not quite as well in time trials with elite runners. Even if he never gets to that level again he is still the top American marathon runner currently and I think still better than Cam.
He will pop a 2:05 any day now
unironically
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
RENATO can you talk about the preparation of Emile Cairess 2:06
Running for Bowerman Track Club used to be cool now its embarrassing
Hats off to my dad. He just ran a 1:42 Half Marathon and turns 75 in 2 months!
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
