One might think Portugal's Nelson Évora and Pedro Pablo Pichardo would be friends. Afterall, both are Olympic champs in the TJ and neither was born in Portugal. But you'd be wrong if you think they are friendly.
Évora moved to Portugal when he was 9 and waited 11 years to get citizenship. PPP moved to Portugal when he was a star and got it in 1 year and Évora isn't happy about it years later, accusing the Portugese Athletics federation of buying an athlete for short-term results.
Well PPP didn't like being disrespected and has fired back.
"I am not a prostitute nor am I like you who left the club at odds because you were offered more (money).”
“Spending 11 years waiting for your Portuguese citizenship does not make you more Portuguese than anyone else – neither of us was born here. You say you have nothing against me, but every chance you get, you talk about Pichardo."
