Very excited about the women's mile. It's really anyone's race.
Ramsden has the fastest unconverted time, but Maatoug and Gregory both have great kicks. I think that I am leaning towards Gregory ftw because she grew up at altitude and is such a great racer in these settings.
I agree with you. I think she defeated Maatoug three times head to head during the fall...Nuttycombe cross country, NCAA cross country, Boston invite indoor 3000.
Those were obviously longer distances than a mile. She'll need a bit of margin to fend off Maatoug's late kick.

I think Gregory is going to all she can do to send Lance out with another title.
Feel free to just guess the sprints then -- in addition to the overall scoring there will be a "king of the distance" scoring table of the events 800+ just for interest.
And thanks to LetsRun.com for sponsoring the contest! There will be prizes for top three places now.

Can we have a "king of the sprints" too then?
Ok, deal. Just note these categories don't have prizes, they're just for fun. NCAA indoors is nice because there's an equal amount of sprints and distance races, unlike outdoors.
I think 25 would be fairer, but don’t allow only BYU to have special eligibility. If you graduate HS at19 and have an injury redshirt, you should be allowed to compete

It's not just BYU. International students are most always older than US students.

I think this could work. Just have a flat rule: If you're 25 years old, you can't participate in NCAA sports.

I think they do have a rule that you can only compete 5 years after your expected graduation year
But the thing is there are a lot of exemptions for religion and injury and probably other stuff too
But there are rules in place regarding so many years after graduation
Yeah I'd love to hear any boots on the ground? What's the scene day before championships?
I think the fact that BYU runners are kissing their husbands and their children wishing them well before races might be a sign their too old to race in college.

A lot of those "rules" got upended due to the pandemic, as NCAA allowed blanket extra eligibility due to the lost seasons.
But in general, for D1, you have 5 years to do 4 seasons of a sport from the start of your college enrollment. They're different for D2 and D3 (slight differences in definitions, like I think one uses "semesters" but don't remember).
I find it hilarious that Graham Blanks is listed as a "freshman" when he's really a "sophomore" (he was injured last year for indoors; he was listed as a sophomore at NCAA XC champs) but really should be a "junior" (took a gap year and deferred enrollment during the pandemic).

I'm pretty sure for division 1 it's 5 years from your expected and normal graduation date from high school
I think this is the big difference between division 1 and all other college divisions
In all other college divisions you could have like a really old dude like 40 or 50 playing college sports
But this can't happen indivision 1 because it's not when you go to school it's when you're supposed to graduate high school
But like I said there's a lot of exceptions for religion and probably military and injury
And also probably if you have like academic problems in high school you can get an extra year or get your graduation year made different
But it's technically supposed to be 5 years from when your normal graduation of high school is
Anyway no boots on the ground at Albuquerque would love to hear with the scene is like???
Eligibility Timeline Division I five-year clock: If you play at a Division I school, you have five-calendar years in which to play four seasons of competition.
