The women's 800 is one of America's best events and could soon be even better with Roisin Willis, Juliette Whittaker, and Michaela Rose tearing up the NCAA.
Nice preview my only minor question is whether OSU will anchor Roe (who will also be fresh) and lead of with the fresh Galvydyte (who is more of a 800/1500 type than Roe). If those two run very well fresh this could be a strong team. Their 800 runner has only run 2:07 but many of the other strong 800 legs will either sit, or run the 800 < 1 hour before. But somehow I think AR pulls this out.
AR has 6 ladies in the 400 of which 5 are in 2 of the 4 heats. Wilson of AR and Adeleke of TX are both in heat 4. All based on qualifying times I know but some interesting developments. Willis avoids Whitaker and Rose in her 800 heat. "1A" and "1B" (Tuohy and Dudek) start next to heat other in 5000. Natalie Cook is in the 5000 for those who wondered her status.

Thanks for the suggestion, I added a "table view" that lists by name so you can quickly add / remove from team without having to click through into the detail view.

Lmao I remember being a sophomore in college when he won NXN. I’m turning 30 next year. Funny enough I was watching Miles Batty NCAA videos and they were entertaining. I can’t complain when American kids are getting a couple more years of training sponsored. Especially when it’s hard to train at a high level after college without big professional support (which is hard to get).
I don't follow anything below 400 and don't really follow 400, so it's hard to do that prediction contest you mentioned.
Feel free to just guess the sprints then -- in addition to the overall scoring there will be a "king of the distance" scoring table of the events 800+ just for interest.

I agree with you. I think she defeated Maatoug three times head to head during the fall...Nuttycombe cross country, NCAA cross country, Boston invite indoor 3000.
Those were obviously longer distances than a mile. She'll need a bit of margin to fend off Maatoug's late kick.
I love that Casey Clinger is a Sophomore eligibility indoors. Dude graduated high school in like 2017.

In all seriousness the NCAA should just switch to under 23 for athletic competition. If you wanna go on a mission, that’s fine, but you get two years instead of four. If you get injured, that sucks, but we don’t need a 25 year old Olin Hacker type winning the 5k against more promising younger athletes.
The question is can UW women race or are they just clock chasers. Last year they bonked at prelims and didn't make it out of the 1st round.
I don't know but one thing I think we may see is even more tactical type races due to the altitude so you either can kick hard or need to measure your effort very carefully.
