I’m not trying to be a jerk, but I think I’ve called you out on your fickle fandom before: quick to anoint the next world beater and equally quick to declare them dead in the water.
Cooper Teare ran 7:34.7 with a 55.8 last 400 at Millrose - that honestly might be the best performance of his life so far. The 3:52 mile didn’t meet lofty expectations, but it was a single race in February where his pacing could have been better. In reality (not just the imagination of us fans) everyone has so-so/disappointing races, and when that’s a 3:52i you’re doing just fine. Besides, the same shift in training that might keep him from running 3:49 in February could show huge dividends in a few months. Teare is doing well. Be patient.
