I think you are very stupid if you don't think that someone identified as female at birth and raised their whole lives as a woman with no knowledge of their DSD condition until they began running, who is eligible to run in the woman's category, should do so. If you were them, you would do the exact same thing and to deny that either shows a severe lack of empathy or that you are trolling. It should be up to the governing bodies to decide what to do with DSD athletes, but until them to expect them to voluntarily go to the men's category when a) they have been raised as a woman and b) they are not fully male and hence would stand no chance even with training, would be stupid.
Nuguse now the best in the world, by far. Inge and Wightman both dodging him at this meet. Same with the Africans. Could easily have run under 3.30 if he wanted to - destroyed Katir (who barely beat Fisher, a 5k/10k guy). If Nuguse doesn't win World's and Olympics then we know WA is fixed. Time to get rid of Coe anyway - only way Wightman was allowed to win (Coe is protecting him). In fact if US doesn't win all 3 medals in 1500, and 5000, then World's is fixed, as it was Worlds 5k/10k was stolen from Fisher.
Can people please take your rants against DSD athletes elsewhere? We all get it. You want to encourage violence against athletes whose sexual development gives them an advantage over other women athletes. (You don’t seem to advocate violence against athletes who are doping, but whatever.) Y’all say the same thing over and over, as if it is going to convince anyone who wasn’t already convinced. It seems like it is basically the only thing you can think about at every meet. It’s not just meets where there are actually confirmed DSD athletes there, but endless speculation over whether some woman is or not. Many of you are obsessed, and it’s honestly creepy at this point. Enough already! Stop trying to make every thread about a meet about this issue! At least create a new thread!
Don't think dodgy conversions are needed here. It was an impressive result without trying to puff it up into something more than it was. It was a 3:33. And 600m of altitude is negligible
The times were solid, but more importantly Nuguse just looks stronger than the competition. He effortlessly glided to the win in the last 100. Right now, I think he’s unbeatable at 1500, and that includes Jakob, but being unbeatable now doesn’t mean too much. Jakob is not 100%, Wightman is hurt, etc. Still, very promising for him, race after race.
Yes, nice run by Fisher too in an off distance.
Definitely the top 1500 guy at the minute. He's beaten Hoare and Katie who are world class. If like to see him race Kerr in Birmingham on Saturday. Kerr had the best kick of all the medalists in Tokyo, his final 300 off that pace was amazing. I'd like to see him and Nuguse throw it down now that Kerr seems to be re-motivated after a bit of a down year in 2022

That's the narrative we're supposed to be swayed by, yes.
I've yet to see an actual example of this, though. Caster Semenya certainly doesn't fit this description.

Why take it elsewhere? When a male athlete has just convincingly won the women's 60m at a high level event, the thread about that even would seem to be a very logical place to discus it.

How do you know that they are male?
You could open your eyes too and see that thing between his legs.
2 second altitude conversion. Also that pacing was pretty bad, Sowinski is usually good
Completely different race than Jakob’s 1500 in Lieven. I’m not saying Nuguse would beat Jakob, but comparing times like it’s a definitive 1:1 misses the mark. There’s the modest altitude, there’s the fact that Sowinski misjudged and split 54.8 through 400, and there’s the significantly more competitive field that Nuguse had to prioritize beating.
I will rewatch but I thought I saw ~26, then 54.8, then 1:52, then 2:22 so the pacing was all over the place. Katir ran a better paced race and still got beat.
Yared Nuguse ran from the front throughout and used a strong kick to fend off Mohamed Katir in winning the 1500m in 3:33.69Website: http://flosports.link/3p2...
WHO IS ORDONEZ???? RANDO ASS SPANIARD IS BETTER THAN GARCIA NOW????
Lol, guy won a World indoors bronze 5 years ago. He’s been around.
Amos Bett was a who the heck is this guy. Looked great, apparently based out of Japan. Looked pretty raw and the theatrics of looking back, celebrating, stopping the watch was great.
World Athletics profiles is confusing for Amos Bett and I think there might be 2-4 athletes with the same name whose results are being mixed. However, the guy today I'm pretty confident he has run 27:11 10k (1st place Lille 2022) because I remember seeing him and also same guy at Houilles 10k which was a bit slower in December last year. Not sure if he's also the Japanese based guy but I don't think he's the guy running Italian HM or marathons.
