What made these guys so good? How on earth did we have so many guys running so fast back in the 80's? When you look at the numbers it is mind blowing. 3 of squires best guys were Bill rodgers, Dick Beardsley and Greg meyer, whose average marathon PR was 2:09:21. What can I learn from these guys about the marathon?
Obviously they ran high mileage, but how did they structure workouts? What kind of long runs did they do? is it beneficial to run without a GPS watch?
