I suspect lots probably do. I met a woman years ago who worked in the Clinton White House when he left office. She said it was a mad house. Old staff cleaning out things; new staff waiting to move it.
What gets me is that no one appears to be tracking who has these documents. If my library book is overdue I am getting texts about it. Seems like our classified documents should have similar oversight.
Heard a guy on a podcast talk about how he would get briefings and a guy (usually) would come to his office with the documents in a briefcase, give the documents to him to read, stand there while he read them and then take them away. The guy was sometimes not even allowed to make notes on a separate piece of paper,
Of course there are different levels of "secret" and the US government tends to classify stuff that does not probably need to be classified. (A Special Forces guy said he once saw a document for a mission and included in the papers was the catering order that had some sort of classification stamped on it--likely they just stamped every piece of paper without looking that closely).
It is bad that these are out and maybe there should be a blanket amnesty. Just tell everyone to look through their Corvettes and if they find anything, bring it in and no questions asked. Give it 6 months. Then if docs are found, prosecute.
The white house press secretary said the search had been "concluded" and was "finished".
Only wait, the FBI raided his house and found more lmao.
Whos obstructing now?
Not a raid, they were invited in. No warrant needed. Biden cooperated.
Same with Pence. Pence asked them to come. No warrant. Pence cooperated.
Not the same as Trump's very obvious obstruction.
Exactly.
The obstruction is the difference.
Republicans who I don't care for, like Kevin McCarthy, Dick Cheney, or Lindsay Graham, could all come forward tomorrow and say "I have this and need to return it," and I would give all of them a pass.
It is apparent that the system needs an overhaul and it is likely that many government officials have documents they shouldn't. That must be addressed going forward.
But so far only one has fought to keep the documents, lied about them being declassified (because he "can do that by thinking about it!"), claimed they are his personal property, moved the documents, and had to have a search warrant executed on his property to get them back.
That individual does not get a pass from me.
That has nothing to do with political party. It has to do with obstruction.
It sounds like Pence was fine with the docs being turned over. As was Biden.
Unlike the criminal trump who lied, denied, refused -- and then whined about it.
I’m curious as to what is on all the documents. Seems that someone in a current investigation has flipped. Hint: arrest of former agent and association with Russia and Albania as a foreign agent. When the name comes to light, look who arranged his influence in Albania.

Also ask yourself why Biden’s attorneys were the ones that started the admission of classified documents. Why would they do that randomly? Also note that there had been a verified collusion with the DOJ initially to keep this quiet. If you’re American and think ANY of this is cool (from trump to Biden to pence), shame on you.
My favorite part is that the same people who were attacking Biden for this same mess are reeling from this one and plotting a hypocritical talking point.

Funny how they sat on the Biden news until months after the election, but leaked the Pence stuff a week after the fact just as more Biden documents were popping up. To say that an equal application of the law is occurring during the Biden Administration is ridiculous.
By stonewalled you mean told them he had them, let them tour where they were being stored, they asked him to add security measures, which he complied with, etc.? Is that stonewalling? Is that obstruction? Obama had his in an old grocery store in Chicago with improper security measures for two years before they finally forced him to move his to a warehouse in Virginia that met Ferriero's storage requirements.
First, get your story straight---it was a furniture warehouse.
Second, get the entire story straight. Short version---it never happened.
It happened for two years. The liberal "fact check" confirms this. There is a reason they trasferred all of the classified materials to Virginia two years later. It's because the Chicago furniture warehouse did not meet NARA requirements. Same as Biden's garage, Biden's professor office, Mar-a-Lago, Pence's house, etc. All have been under secret service protection.

Funny how fast these people slithered from "it's illegal to have classified documents" to "it's okay to illegally have classified documents as long as you give them back when you're caught."
Trump's documents were all over a country club, anyone with a few bucks could get in and peruse them looking for state secrets.
Joe's docs were mostly in boxes in the back of his '79 Trans Am, which apparently has a dead starter, so Hunter couldn't take it out cruising for chicks.
No one knows where Pence had the documents, but no one cares because no one likes Mike Pence and there was no risk of anyone actually going to his house anyway.
As I said elsewhere, this is a common practice because they are working at home and on vacations. Where it is criminal is where they lie and deny they have it and obstruct investigations into them and when they remove documents at the end of their term in order to avoid prosecution for what is in those documents. Trump was doing all of that.
Even worse, Trump told others, without clearances, to take home sensitive documents with them. He told Rudy he could take home without having to account for having taken them.
"Giuliani said he was at Mar-a-Lago, working on 'vetting' some 'very rich' people — specifically, going through their tax returns for Trump."
"He told me, 'Oh, take them home with you,'" Giuliani said of Trump. "I'm not going to take Wilbur Ross' tax returns home with me. I could misplace them!"
How many classified documents, like personal tax returns, and other classified documents, are still at non-elected people's homes? It is also amazing to find out that Trump ordered the IRS to give him people's personal tax returns. How many of those were demanded and are missing? Blackmail to force people who worked for him to keep quiet?
It sounds like Pence was fine with the docs being turned over. As was Biden.

So, as long as someone is fine with them being "turned over", it's okay to break the law?
There are people serving time for mishandling classified documents.
Exactly! Trump, Pence, Biden, and HITLERy Clinton all need to be sent to supermax prisons for the rest of their miserable lives AND they should all be banned from ever holding federal office in the future. Biden needs to be removed from office like yersterday!
After all, Madam President Harris has a nice tint to it, right? She could make Pelosi her VP.
