I know the answer to this is probably going to be you just
have to try them all out, but looking for some guidance on some spikes for my
son. He is in 11th grade and
typically runs the 800, 1600 and sometimes the 3200. Last year he was injured most of the year,
but he ran in some Brooks Wire V7’s.
They were ok but were not super comfortable on his feet. We ordered a pair of Dragonfly’s for him to
try but probably because of his pronation he did not care for them because he
felt like his feet were falling (rolling) badly to the inside even just trying
to walk. We thought about trying some of
the Avanti TYO because they are on sale but I am concerned because of how soft
the heel seems that they might feel the same way to him. Any thoughts or experiences with some of the
other spikes we could try? I am a little
hesitant to try some of the new ones with the permanent spikes just because I
hate the idea of not being able to replace worn down spikes.
