Which is why, if Brosnan wishes to establish UCLA as a distance-power, in the likes of the Colorado Buffaloes and NAU, then he should be looking at the possibility of standing-up a permanent altitude training camp up, in Big Bear, for remote distance student-athletes.
I would think starliper as well. Maybe she would benefit more from one of these low mileage/ heavy cross training programs that other college women have found success with
Calling BS on this thread. The poster here that seems to have real inside info on NC State uses the handle "Tuffy". Not "FastTuffy". The person who started this thread is most likely just trying to stir up chit.

Similar to the 20 page doping bust that never happened. Mods need to delete these stupid speculation threads no with no evidence at all because it just makes letsrun look bad and the commenters making false negative accusations
Just remember, Tuffy said that Kelsey wouldn't run until nationals because she was so severely injured... She ran quite a bit before nationals, including Nutty, ACCs, and Regionals. He or she is about 50/50 on accurate intel.

This is not accurate. As I recall, Tuffy didn't specifically say "until nationals", and never said anything like "so severely injured". Rather, he/she just (accurately) said that the coaches were easing Chmiel back as she fully recovered from her injury, and that she would sit out a few of the early races...and not race until later in the season when it really mattered (ie, conference championships, regionals, nationals).
And Tuffy came out with this information long before Coach Henes or anyone with NC State had "officially" confirmed that Chmiel would sit out the first few races. So contrary to what you are indicating, what Tuffy reported on Chmiel at that time is solid evidence that Tuffy does, in fact, have "insider" info on the program.

I can’t stand UCLA but even I have to admit they picked up 2 great runners. Barnett is a colossal pickup. Still hope they get trashed. NC State fans are just so dumb evaluating talent blinded by their own bias.
Tuohy and nc state are still gonna dust their a$es!
omg why is ucla being so hyped up after 2 mediocre distance runner transfers??? lol
we all know next year it will be still be nc state, new mexico, alabama, osu, north carolina on top
Barnett is a top 5 mile/1500 runner, Mcdonnel was 4:38 HS miler and only a freshman now. They at worst are Rauber level xc runners w/ plenty of upside, so very solid pieces to build a 5 person xc team around.
NAU should be better than 'bama in '23 xc. Chelangat done with xc, so AL now has to find 2 missing pieces to make their 5, plus new coach.
