If mods feel like someone is just trying to settle a score they will delete posts. Sometimes this creates a cycle as the people trying to post this stuff, they just keep trying and trying and think something bigger is going on. But a thread say about them getting married should mainly be about that.
We should have a contest for this. It used to be obvious to me about once a month that Rojo had posted something anonymously. 90% of the time I was right. But i can't think of anything in months like that. He usually just uses his name.
registered users are more important. As long as the stupid voting system exists, it will be less stupid if our votes count ten times more than unregistered posters.
That would be like real elections, after all. You can not vote if nobody knows who you are, except probably in California.
We did the pro coaches series last year because of a request I think in a thread like this.
Talked to what we are the top pro coaches with a couple missing. But there are a lot more coaches out there and we can talk to them about different things.
Pete Julian, Joe Bosshard, Mark Coogan, Danney Mackey, Ben Rosario and Dathan Ritzenhein.
We're going to start the year off by talking to the coaches of the top pro distance groups in America. Up first On Athletics Club coach, Dathan Ritzenhein. ...
I thought rojo posted a thread about what we should do about xy athletes in womens sports lately, it was a few short sentences in the title and sounded like him
Do you always post video of the podcast? I’ve seen a couple on YouTube, but I typically use Apple or Spotify to listen.
No we don't often post the full video. Can you watch a full video on apple podcasts now? i use overcast on my iphone for podcasts and it doesn't have video.
Not that I know of on Apple. I guess I’m used to Rogan on Spotify, but that may be part of his deal with them.
Would be cool to have more race clips or even pics on the SC podcast on YouTube or similar, but not sure how you’d keep it to SC members.
Not a big deal, I usually listen in the car so the audio is fine.
Your brother does a pretty good job of “playing” dumb and making provocative posts under his name or anonymous ones that are obviously him.

Okay, there needs to be a rule that none of the moderators should be able to post anonymously. With the way yall can track IPs and what not, this is a no brainer. A while back, while posting anonymously, another anonymous poster responded correctly naming like 5 non-registered names that I had used. It was really creepy and clearly one of you guys. As soon as I called it out as such, their and my posts were deleted. stop doing sh*t like that. you're adults

4. To point #1, keep the board tidier and more focused. Eliminate multiple threads on the same topic. Only allow threads that have a defined discussion topic and universal interest. They don't all have to be running threads but the board gets too gunked up with stuff like "New Edmonton City Councilor Doesn't Get It!" and "Anyone Else Drinking Alone Tonight?". Much of the anti-social behavior comes from threads that are designed solely for individual attention and that invite flame wars. Politics, social issues, and non-running topics are fine. Just eliminate the arcane personal beefs, attention whoring, and blatant group trolling.
There are some good ideas in your post but what i don't get is if you know a certain thread is designed soley for individual attention and flame wars, why do you read it? There are tons of threads - super popular ones on letsrun - that I've never clicked on as it doesn't interest me.
A reason why a thread was deleted.... not necessarily a post in the thread..but the thread itself.
I agree. If a thread is deleted, the thread should stay in the index and when you click on it, the reason for the deletion should be clearly stated. Lots can be just a box checked like "Spam" but others should probably even include a statement from the moderator.
I also think the reason for each post being deleted should appear in the threads. When we delete, we have to check a box so why not put the reasoning in there?
The mods need to stop deleting every thread that is even remotely funny.
Thank you. This is the single biggest problem on this site, in my opinion. Letsrun.com is now the most heavily censored site I have ever been on. I can’t tell you how many threads I have tried to reply to, but it simply disappeared.
It's a fascinating phenomenon. We put in A LOT of new resources for moderators so now they are notified instantly when a post is reported. As a result, we are deleting more than ever and quicker than ever and yet the people still complain. At the same time, some of the off-color/funny threads are also being deleted. I have had the same feeling as you - are we deleting too much?
The reality is there is no right answer. Some people love the funny stuff - o thers hate it. Many people hate the anti-vax threads for example - others love it.
When you go to a reddit or something or even a twitter, you get a specialized feed based on your interests. We don't do that.
I suspect this is not a unique idea, but a forum for running and training/training philosophy/anything to do with actually running and racing only. No politics, no tmz stuff...

There most definitely is a right answer. There should be no factually incorrect anti-vax propaganda. People are posting it with the explicit intent to harm and kill people. I’m not sure why you think it’s appropriate to give them a forum.
