Hello, I won’t tell you what’s in the book for 800m, I think you can buy the book for that. But I will tell you a program I used personally that was based on easy interval method for my aerobic days that gave me success at 800m.
Sunday: aerobic easy intervals: 3-4x1200m at 10k pace with 20 second walk and 600m jog
Monday: 6-8x400m at 5k to 4K pace with 400m jog in 2:15
Tuesday: at the track: 3x4x200m at 2000m, 1500m, 1000m pace with 200m jog recovery in 1:15. At the beginning I do 60m progressively faster. The last 2 I time with cones and a camera to get my flying 30m time (top speed development)
Wednesday: same as Sunday
Thursday 3x8x100m hills at 4-6% grade at 1500m to 800m pace with 50 second recoveries
Friday: very easy intervals 3-5x600m at same pace as Sunday
Saturday: hard track workout specific to 800m like 5x300m at 800m pace. I do the same speed development fly 30m as Tuesday.
This is an ideal week and you won’t be able to train this hard every week. The speed development is very important for 800m. You can also lift weights like cleans
