Writing to the powers at be as this is the first race where I am actually trying to seriously perform to my current abilities and not just finish.
5k PR is 22:27, was a time trial back in late august - 7:16, 7:10, 7:14 mile splits.
The last 8 weeks have had volumes of 25, 30, 30, 27, 30, 34, 41, 41 mpw and those include 2 threshold (7:10 ish pace) cruise workouts per week, a long run from 7 miles now up to 11 miles this past sunday and the rest easy with 6 strides after 2 of those easy runs.
Yesterday I did 6 x 75 sec at anywhere from 6:42-6:46 pace 2 min jog recovery with 2 mile wu and cd and felt good even after the 11 miles at 9:15 avg pace.
Course is fast, net downhill pretty much the entire last mile.
Big goal right now is to break 20, should I try to give it a go or is that still out of reach? Thanks all and GGMF
