Engels is really a showboat. He was a pretty good runner at one time but he is really a showboat. I don’t have any interest in the article. Engels should retire and become a broadcaster or whatever his showboating leads him to, because elite running is no longer an option.

I'm hoping the coaching change will get him back to his best. From the interviews I've heard it seems like he's lost focus a lot since 2019, but even so he's run 3:33 and came 4th at the trials, so maybe he's got more to give still.

I love Engels but hate when a grown man bad mouths a Coach. It shows incredible immaturity.

No one would believe it wise to train mixed martial arts athletes and/or boxers via video chat, email, text messages or phone calls but absent coaches have sold too many in T&F community on the idea that T&F does not need to be done face to face.

There are rules in other pro sports where coaches aren't allowed to have their athletes practice year round. They then have to report back for training camp.

Engels was probably just in a base building phase at altitude, maybe not even doing workouts yet.

He needs to grow up and learn how to take care of himself without a babysitter. Does he expect his coach to bike along side him every single run?

I specifically stated m.m.a. and boxing. Are you thinking about futbol, football, baseball, basketball and hockey? Combat sport athletes don't punch each other in the face 52 weeks per year but combat sport athletes are trained in person 50 plus weeks per year.

Seriously y’all. Engels didn’t need to do Julian like that. Julian is there for his team and works as hard as anyone. Not really a fair portrayal at all.
