Surely this must be a little humbling for Galen but he still had a nice career.
re: "Nice Career"
Without a doubt, Galen Rupp is on the Mt. Rushmore of Amercian distance running.
I think there is doubt because even the real Mt. Rushmore is subjective as to who is on it. I mean Washington and Lincoln are not seriously debated, but including Jefferson and especially Teddy Roosevelt is not a universal choice. Because he was never at the top of his sport, Rupp fits more with the latter two.
Regardless of that, he still had a great career that is in no way diminished by what Bekele, who is on the Mt. Rushmore of world distance running, ran in London this week.
Rupps connection with convicted drug cheat Al sal makes his entire career questionable
Wow it's like none of you actually read the AlSal report and just come on here and constantly slander Rupp. Who would've thought?
I have read the reports (quite a few actually), and can confirm that Al Sal is a banned drug cheat, and that Rupp's career is questionable, to put it mildly.
High chance Khannouchi was doping. He was running in the late 90's, early 2000's when testing procedures weren't really that great. Off the grid in Morocco much of his training. Shady situation and he ran unbelievable times at the time.

I guess you missed the line from CAS stating, "no athletes were found to have ever gained any kind of advantage." Interpret that how you will.............

I missed that indeed. Are you sure CAS said that? I just searched their reasoned decision for "no athletes" and "any kind", and could not find that statement.
Just some points why "Rupp's career is questionable", in addition to being coached by a now finally banned drug cheat (who also coached banned drug cheat Slaney):
1) "testosterone medication" as teenager
2) "likely doping" according to IAAF
3) suspicious testo spike according to USADA
4) likely usage of a forbidden method according to USADA
5) unidentified drugs sent across the border in a hollowed book.

Plus neither Galen nor Mo could finish a race fast until Alberto got them what they needed. They were losers in a kick until he found the magic formula for them.
Of course it is. The coach is banned for life in part for "experimenting" with supplements, creams, and who knows what else.....well, I guess the people that banned him do. Ha ha. Rupp was his star pupil. Who do you think his former coach had designs on helping? Google "Galen Rupp testosterone." There's enough literature out there to bring way beyond reasonable doubt. You may not be convinced. Luckily the people who decided the coach's fate were not so easily duped....or a fanboy like you. From accusations when the athlete was 16 until right before the ban with the cut out book delivery. GTFO If it walks like an Oregon duck........etc.
Look at it, if he was doping and doing gray area stuff wouldn't it make sense to stay in the circle or somewhat in the circle? Why wouldn't he join Bowerman thats what Jerry was for as a contigency for after alberto. But Galen for whatever reason decided upon mike smith, and has some pretty good races in his time with Mike, unless mike is doping him but that runs the risk of him losing his coaching position altogether and his Galen junior in the form of Nico.

Is this true? I remember back in the day there were articles about him fitting in his training around work shifts bussing tables at a restaurant in NYC.

Don’t be mad that Rupp is the most consistent runner we have seen. He had 15-20 years of consistent training with minimal injuries and a slow, steady progression. Nothing shady about that.
rashid ramzi on the other hand is a clear example of improving too fast in a short period of time. Clearly a doper.

Agreed. Perhaps Kara Voucher’s new book will shed some light on some shady passport action. Hahahahaha……
