Freshman Jamison Ping - 16:24 in yesterday’s race. Too bad he transferred. Would have made an already-good Desert Vista team (where grace and Lauren went) even better
5K XC pr’s Jamison Ping - 16:24 (this year) Lauren Ping - 16:40 (last yr) Grace Ping - 17:08 (2019). And this girls had similar middle school accomplishments as lauren if not better. Never broke 17 on an XC course

Even more impressive is Zarian Rodriguez, a 9th grader who finished just behind Ping at Chandler XC Championships.
He joined the XC team on a whim this fall. Never ran before. Didn't know anything about the sport until joining the team this fall.
At crossroads sectionals today Rodriguez got 5th place, closing the gap on the 12th grade Kenyan Kibia brothers. Huge talent. If he sticks with it, he's going to be a monster a year from now.

If he really wants to stick with soccer, Arizona would be a perfect state since soccer is in the winter.
In Iowa, Utah, and Nebraska, soccer is in the spring, so he would have to give up spring track, but he can still do XC. In track, you can double up as many guys as you want. He can also do USATF if he wants to
But I think he is proud of how his current team progressed ever since he joined
