Olympic marathon bronze medallist (and Mo Farah training partner) Bashir Abdi says Mo still has a lot left

He's run a few marathons and I think we can see his ceiling. A 2:05 will win some of the smaller WMMs, but I don't see him hitting that time again.

As the athletes age, an increasingly important determinant of greatness is the ability to consistently train and avoid injury. This is always critical, but more so as age advances. This sets Kipchoge apart from his “peers.” If you have a lot left in the tank, but you always have a flat tire, it doesn’t matter what’s in the tank.

Bashir Abdi is either none too bright or else he is like Kipchoge and full of c—p. Remember when Eliud apparently said Rupp would break the marathon record?

Age is not "just a number". Age-related decline is real. There are some notable exceptions, but not many.

who knows. does abdi train with him and feel like mo gets the best of him?

Give him a break, he's Mo's friend, he's going to say nice things about him. He's also right: Mo gave up on the marathon way too easily. He quit because he didn't think a 2:04 was good enough to win, but in any race without Kipchoge, he would be in with a shout. That ship has sailed now but he could get to one more Olympics if he wanted to, it's not like Britain will have anyone else who can get the qualifying standard

A true friend does not lie to make him feel better.

mo has gone soft, too much fame and fortune. it's over.

strangely, even if it wasn't, it'd be tough to get excited. cannot really explain that, but its true (for me).

The fact is he is still better than all of US men's marathoners. Is that good enough for him to continue training at high level? Who knows.

Why are you allowed to work in a school when you cannot master or cannot be bothered with some of the most fundamental rules of English grammar like putting capital letters at the start of sentences and question marks at the end of questions?
