Yeah, my hope is that the recovery is commensurate with the symptoms. Since my symptoms were very mild, hopefully the recovery (to resume running) will be quick.
And yeah, the runny nose while running is legit! 😂

I tested positive for Covid on August 14th. It barely even slowed me down. I dropped my running mileage from 40 to 25 the week I had Covid. Ran a little slower. Lost 5 pounds. Was back up to 40 the week after. Oddly, losing that 5 pounds has made me faster. Vaxxed and boosted before.
I took vitamin D for an immune system boost, then curcumin and ivermectin to specifically counter Covid.
I had it once in January 2020, felt like shlt for nearly a week (and jogged about 20 miles) but ran a 3200 PR a week later. Then I had it in October 2021 (pure blood) and didn’t feel sick at all.
For me it took about 2 weeks. I started running about 5 days after my positive test and I was running about 45 seconds to 1 minute per mile slower at top of my aerobic heart rate.
Had first symptoms and tested positive last Wednesday 9/21. A few days of mild fever, congestion, and the worst sore throat I’ve ever had. I am through the worst of it but still testing positive. Haven’t started running yet as my body just feels weak, and feels like running would set me back even further. Hoping a few more days of rest is sufficient, but man this really sucks. Fortunately, I don’t have any important races on the calendar until December so trying to be as patient as possible.
Funnily enough, my RHR hasn’t changed at all during the illness. Hoping that’s a positive sign that returning to running won’t be a disaster once I’m feeling up to it.
I got it in late July this yr. I had fevers and fatigue; started on paxlovid felt better. I re-started running on day 6--was crap--time and effort wise. It took me a full 4 wks to be at same level prior to infection. Hope your timeline is much better and good luck with your NYC thon
Its so crazy these threads are still so popular. But is it crazier OP didn’t bother to read the other 100 threads with the same title?
are you a pure blood? We seem do better and have fewer symptoms when catching Covid
