Saddie will now be a sophomore, the same year where Katelyn Tuohy took off, but I don't see Saddie having the same successes in cross country as Tuohy. Different story in track, breaking the mile record is already in the bag for Saddie, she will be breaking that record as a sophomore, just like what Katelyn Tuohy did, but the other distances are quite a high ask.
I believe Ellie will be a Junior and Saddie will be a Sophomore. Saddie has a 4:11 1500m PR and Ellie has a 4:14 1500m PR. We will have a battle on the Mile record in the outdoor next year!
Katelyn Tuohy is one freak athlete, other than being a naturally gifted runner, she ran 70 miles per week as a 16 year old, wakes up at dawn to run and workout all alone, top of her class and has phenomenal character. We won't be seeing another one like her, unless Saddie or any young up and coming super talented athlete is willing to put in same the amount of work Katelyn did when she was young.
Being undefeated for 3 years and winning 3 straight national xc title, all while shattering every course record is harder than breaking a track record. It would take several years to see another one like Katelyn, or perhaps we wouldn't, only time will tell.
Highly unlikely. Hasay ran away with the race as a freshman and only repeated again as a senior. Winning 3 titles presumes no injuries, loss of motivation, physical changes, etc. Baxter came close, winning as a soph and junior and losing out to Cranny and Efraimson in her senior year, in what I believe was the only XC loss of her entire HS career.
Wrong. Sir, I think you have a problem with your brain being missing. No one needs to put in the SAME amount of work Tuohy did when she was young. Carrie Garritson of that famous clan from Cali put in THAT much work, was an age-group phenom (2:49:21 marathon at 11.5 years old), faded into the wilderness, sonny boy. Please, no one, ever, try copying someone else's workload.
Carrie, as a kid (not even a youth), ran 50 to 60 miles a week, had no easy days, ran killer hill repeats twice weekly, did speed workouts, competed in intense road racing every weekend and ...
This reply is so dense, light bent around you. Three seniors will win the next three national titles. This year the poster says it'll be Riggs. The following year (2023) it'll be Shea, who is a junior this year (2022). The third year, 2024, it'll be Engelhardt, who is a soph this year (2022).
She made an odd decision for somebody who was top of her class. Guessing her test scores were not in line with her GPA.
Katelyn could have went to Michigan where she also visited and any other schools but picked NC State obviously for their running program. She shared how she would want to stay in the sport even if she stops running competitively, and surely many schools and teams would want to hire her 20-25 years from now.
She would not be the Katelyn she is now and would not have all these titles at ages 18, 19 and 20 if not for the school's program, and if she were about to pick schools again, 200% sure she would pick nc state even if stanford pays her to join them.

"Could have went"?? I weep for this country. If Katelyn is anything like you, she could not "have went" to Stanford. Anyway, she is all-in on running and may not be all that academic. Choosing NC State makes me think she isn't.

katelyn tuohy who has a 4.6 hs gpa and has been all-academic every season since entering college, was in the all-america all-academic honoree list (top student-athletes in america in academics) and being just 20 years old but about to enroll academically as a senior, a year ahead of her peers..... is NOT SMART, as you say.
