In looking at the St. Thomas results today, I have to wonder if the current Gophers could beat them. Biel Wiel is a machine and Morey Smith runs a terrific 8K for a 1500m man.
The Augsburg kid could certainly run in their top 5.

St Thomas had just 1 guy in front of Mn 5th runner at the Griak meet. No need to wonder. Both Gopher teams are rebuilding after losing a bunch of 6th year seniors last year. Both teams under performed a bit the last 2 meets but there’s talent on both sides to be developed. They need some time to experience big meets like Nutty and Big Ten’s and get better. Check back next fall for progress. Both teams should be better.
You like to throw your imagined clout around but don't pretend like you've been paying close attention to University of Minnesota distance running for the last twenty years and can speak with authority on Plasencia's coaching chops. Listen to the people who have.

Plasz has retired. Why continue to rip his coaching? Also why is it worth noting the Gophers got beat by SD State at a meet in September? They are obviously rebuilding and redshirting all the Freshmen. Perhaps you could relax and give the current coaches a chance to continue to recruit and develop.
