I have a vague memory of Aduck as a Nike employee who made more of his insider knowledge than seemed justified most of the time. A staunch defender of Rupp, Farah, and Salazar, if I remember correctly. Now that he is in the limelight here, I hope he is safe and not at risk of being disappeared by dark forces withing the company. [Joking, mostly.]
Or more likely still, he was taking it for years, and recently he got a bit more desperate and reckless, and took greater amounts/closer to competitions.
There’s two different situations, he was taking for years and years and he happened to get popped, or he started taking it recently to try and stay competitive.

Yup. And the same goes for every single person who has ever been caught, including American ones. Who gets a DUI the one and only time they drive drunk? Most likely it was there 1,000th time.
I would be surprised if Amos was the only juicer in the 2012 final. The level of that race was an advertisement for peds. The only runner who looked like he should be running at that speed was the winner. The others weren't fit to tie his shoelaces. But who knows.

Another amazing moment from the Games as Botswana's Nijel Amos comes from behind to overtake Kenya's Olympic champion David Rudisha and win the men's 800m go...

I have always that that his performance in that race was a bit of an outlier. He never came to reaching such heights ever again.

GW1516, aka cardarine, is a sarm that is likely one of the most popular drugs for endurance athletes. I’m not even sure it’s illegal in the US. Very short half-life.
This would be the sort of drug that such as SH would be taking and not Nandrolone.
The half life and immediate effects would make it much better if being tested.

He has 19 sub 1:44 times (only Rudisha, Kipketer and Gray have more)
This is where you gotta give the Americans in mid distance at the highest level like Centro or Symmonds or Manzano props because they are tested so much, and they can’t just escape into the mountains or get tipped off etc.
Disappointing. Amos has been in the game for a decade and I'm sure he's been tested for everything under the sun. I'm guessing this case is similar to Kiprop's where a fading star desperately turns to chemicals to try and stay competitive. Kiprop didn't win a single race the year he got popped and we can all agree Amos was not in conversation for a medal for the first time in his career.
Sad end.
Normally people improve with doping especially EPO
Kiprop used to bribe his way out of it, his declining performance show he was always at it
Last night I was talking track with a couple guys. One of them said a few years ago he was in Oregon and went on a group run. There were a couple guys who knew Amos well.
They said he was a crazy partier and into drugs and alcohol from his days in Botswana (which is apparently why Nike brought him to the US).
OK, it's hearsay and if I know that people have said things about me that aren't exactly true, so I, as my friend does, take that with a grain of salt.
Eh, he tested positive. Was he on PED's in 2012? Who knows. Did they save his samples? Can they retest?
