Two years ago, I posted a lengthy list of reasons why Sars-CoV-2 almost certainly came from a lab. In the two years since then, not one infected intermediate species has been found. Multiple new arguments have been raised to support the laboratory escape theory.
I'll just hit a couple of points most readers probably don't know. Sars-CoV-2 is only 96% genetically similar to the closest known bat coronavirus. For perspective, humans are 98% genetically similar to chimps. For the coronavirus to emerge from a bat would be like a human emerging from a chimp.
There are multiple anomalies in the virus that do not exist in other coronaviruses. These anomalies make the virus more contagious to humans THAN TO ANY OTHER SPECIES ON THE PLANET.
OTOH, the genetic manipulations to create a virus like Sars-CoV-2 are relatively easy
I could go on an on.
Now, the technique used could be debated as well as the reasons for the research, but the obvious conclusion is that the virus escaped from the lab.
You know what pisses me off, huh? You know what- what really gets me mad in this life? It's the goddamn periodic table of elements--they've got 109 or so naturally occurring elements, then they've got 10 or 11 of these non-naturally occurring man-made elements! They give them names like Einsteinium, Californium, and Nobelium--and what I want to know is: if they're man-made--just how the hell can they be elements, huh?

I don't think there will ever be publicly available definitive proof either way. Too much can be twisted now. Each argument can be discredited which leaves us in the middle of nowhere. It would be important to know as it's not like it doesn't matter - it could potentially help with treatment and various other issues like preventing it happening again if it came about in a certain type of specific way or specific scenario. Even if people ever did get to the bottom of it, do you think it would be publicly released?
We are best to focus on treating it and how to move on and live in the world now. C'est tout.
Man-made. I mean, it started as a bat virus, but then we used gain-of-function breeding techniques at the Wuhan Institute of Virology to make it more transmissible and deadly as part of highly controversial projects funded in part by Dr. Fauci and the US Government (though there was plenty of dissent within the US because they thought it was dangerous). Pretty sure all of that is confirmed fact so far - not my opinion

Why do you spend your time this way?
Someone's got to.
You should be asking why our government's top scientists AREN'T spending more time on this.
