Another UTK commit?!
Another Tennessee commit?!?!
Allura Markow (2:16/4:50) of Dana Hills has signed with University of Oregon. She will also be running at Champs this weekend.
How are there so many females who run 4:50 or faster with mediocre 800 times? Everyone (male) on my team who broke 4:50 ran 2:10 or faster. The only person I know with a relatively low slowdown was 2:07/4:35/9:40.

why so many males on your team with ok 800's that don't run faster at 1 or 2 mile?

Dang that's a pretty major pull for them. 4th at NXN and 1st at Champs is a pretty complete resume compared to a lot of the other recruits going around.
I couldn't believe his NXN performance, kid came out of nowhere. He won both the 1600 and the 3200 at the Indiana state track championship.
Hanover's Alli Crytser (2:16/4:54/10:27), five time Virginia Class 4 state champion is headed to Georgetown.

worth noting that Aussie distance phenom Amy Bunnage (2:07/4:14!/9:03!!) is headed to Stanford next year to join her fellow U20 World Championship teammate Nicola Hogg.
by the way, also worth noting that Bunnage just ran a 9:00.60 recently, breaking the U18 Australian record! Thats Alexa Efraimson territory. Tuohy ran a 9:01 in high school and Cain ran a 9:02 so this is all-time level running out of this kid. Stanford is going to be loaded with some astonishingly fast kids next year especially with this Australian pipeline they seem to have developed.
Finally, Samira Kennedy (57.6/2:10/4:49) just announced her commitment to Harvard.
It’ll be interesting to see how the Herriman boys do at Weber State and S Utah. Both far exceeded their last year and early season performances with big finishes at NXN.
I know shes a sprinter but we should probably note that the great Shawnti Jackson (11.07/23.06/52.32) has chosen Arkansas to bring her record breaking talent to. Fastest 100 in the country last season and 3rd fastest in the world U20. Number 2 in the 400. Fastest 200 in 2021. Too many crowns and accomplishments to count on the high school level and the international level. will she stay 4 years?
