We've seen her run well, even this year. She just has a problem doing it when it counts. I think she'll continue to run well, and perhaps next Olympics she'll look back and tell everyone she was sorry she carried on like this, it was a hard time for her, etc etc etc and she'll focus on her running.
Justin Beiber was a bit of a loudmouth and super annoying for awhile there, then he hosted a roast on himself, and made himself more approachable. Perhaps she'll be similar.
Maybe, but the big difference is that her career is based on her ability to perform athletically, a skill and ability that fades with age, unlike a pop star.
I pretty sure her coach and Nike sponsors are unhappy she spent at least a month of downtime getting a boob job in the lead up to a world championship being hosted in Nike’s backyard.
I did not read this whole thread but perhaps it's been said already, she technically never called out LetsRun by name. Jus' saying.
She DID but LetsRun cut it out. Previously in this thread, Wejo admitted to ShaCarri saying things that were cut out of her interview. This was one more thing.
how do you think her story unfolds? i think she will continue to fade into irrelevancy, then she'll have some run ins with some celebrity/NBA star, probably have his baby, then end up on one of those D level reality shows.
she'll look back and tell everyone she was sorry she carried on like this
OP what interview? She was never interviewed! She just stopped and starting ranting. Then went to her tent and showed her a**, literally and flipped off everyone, THEN went on to threaten AW with a lawsuit. Miss me with all of her antics and her apologist. She is a poor loser, and a bad actor. She simply cannot handle the pressure of the heat she ASKED for! Yes, never forget she requested this attention, verbatim. She disrespected the sport, but now has the audacity to demand respect on behalf of "WE". How sway.
For the record, Sha'Carri addressed her comments to the entire media, not LetsRun in particular.
She had not spoken to the media at all this meet.
She told TexasRunnerGirl who was filming for LetsRun after her speech that we recorded that seeing Gabby Thomas cry in the mixed zone is what inspired her to do this. She also gave Texas Runner Girl a hug.
I can confirm the hug. I did not film her when I talked to her because I have better social skills and empathy than that.
First, I think you should see both the video where she addressed *all* of the media in the mixed zone, not exclusively LetsRun. There was a crowd of people filming, not just Jon Gault.
Then compare that video to Katelyn Naomi's interview in this article:
I was helping Jon with interviews for LetsRun throughout the weekend. Sha'Carri walked through the mixed zone after each of her races. I could tell from her face and body language she wasn't going to talk. Did I want her to? Obviously, but I wasn't going to shout at her like a couple of guys did. Not that the shouting to get her attention was necessarily enough to make her so upset.
That's why it threw me off when she came back after the 200m finals to talk. At first, I thought maybe she just needed some time to process her experience and was going to let us ask questions, but instead she gave her speech about the media disrespecting athletes.
On her way out, her attitude completely changed when she saw Katelyn Naomi and Jasmine Todd. You can see the interaction in Katelyn's video. Sure, it started with talking about fashion and such, but she actually did talk a little about what's next for her race-wise too. Sure it helps that they're all friends, but from that observation, I could understand the difference in how they made her feel.
After they finished their interview, I went up to Sha'Carri and just asked if there was any specific incident that happened this weekend to make her upset because I felt bad. If there's something we can do better, I want to know. That's when she told me what set her off was seeing Gabby Douglas crying during an interview. The athlete section was outside the media tent, so she could see in, though she didn't actually hear what was being said. So I think maybe she thought someone said something to upset Gabby when really Gabby was just sad about her race (she talked about having a recent hamstring injury and that's when she started crying). I told Sha'Carri that yes, I felt bad for continuing to film, but that Gabby was continuing to talk to us. Anyway, I think just having me willing to talk to Sha'Carri like a person and not aggressively stick a camera in her face smoothed things over somewhat and she gave me a hug.
tldr: Everyone has different personalities and experiences. You have to learn to read people and interact with them on an individual basis. Empathy goes a long way.
That Bieber roast was honestly one of the better ones, and his jokes, even though I know he probably wrote very little of them, were solid and solidly delivered.

This is some hard hitting journalism right here! LMAO Isn't it your job to get a story without worrying whether or not you hurt someone's feelings? Calling LetsRun "media" is quite the stretch

well what caliber of journalism do you really expect from a site which has one of its representatives calling 200m Olympian Gabby Thomas by the name of the long retired Olympian gymnast, Gabby Douglas?

I'm not claiming my message board post is journalism. Apologies for the brain fart.
