No, I didnt forget Lyles. I like Lyles. He's a bit of a clown but he has fun. He's also not a prima donna like the ones that I mentioned and I don't believe that he has the sense that he is the "best ever." I mean look at Cade Flatt. He has gone so far as to say he is the best ever. Lyles is having fun.
Koch was never busted but she more than likely used PEDs. She competed in the time of government sanctioned doping in the program that was run by Dr Manfred Höppner. I wouldn't be surprised if most East German athletes doped during that time. If you don't beleive that Koch doped, you're naive.
After the fall of the Berlin, East German doping records were found that proved Koch was using drugs.
In fact, East German athletes were successful in suing in court and winning money because were forced to dope by their government in order to be on the national team.
Real question for Abby turning pro is what is the market price for her? Worlds in US with 3 more consecutive years of world events. I am going to speculate that its on the high side of $2 million a year and with bonuses could exceed $3 million

Where are you getting these numbers from? It seems a little excessive. I’m sure she’ll be compensated well but $3 million? No way…
She is photogenic as hell, has a great smile, an engaging personality, and is a stud on the track, but I just don’t see that kind of money coming her way in her first year as a pro.

You are completely out of touch with how much professional track and field athletes make. Very few runners, even really good ones, make more than a few hundred thousand per year.
Plus her main events, the 200 meters and 400 meters, are not as high profile of an event like the 100 is. And Abby, while good at the 100 meters, isn't ever going to be gold medal winning good in the 100.
She would do well to get $500,000 per year and she might not even get that much. And that includes bonuses.
You have probably been confused by reading too many articles about the income of Serena Williams. Track isn't tennis. The pay is much, much lower.

I disagree!
You are correct, most of your top athletes don't go over $500K; however, there are a few like Rupp, Simpon, Gatlin, Felix, Centro, Lyles, Norman and Coburn that are/where in the $750 range. Mu and Sydney are at one-million; Abby will definitely be a million-dollar baby as well and can make double that with appearance fees and performance incentives.

As I asked the other poster, where are these numbers coming from? Are you an agent for athletes and privy to the information?
Abby is a great talent and is going to make great money. She is not Sydney or Mu, though. She is just not in that stratosphere yet. Sydney is a WR holder and Mu is nearly a WR holder. Steiner will do great things as a professional but she just is not immediately going to command the kind of money you’re talking about.
