What does altitude have to do with someone wanting to live there if they are not a competitive athlete? Pretty sure the most desirable places to live in the country are NOT at altitude with low population. I do get your point obviously about the rough winters in South Bend, but the additional comment about altitude sarcastically does not add up.
Totally agree, this might be the worst game ever. Cashberry is the worst coach in the NCAA. He can’t recruit anyone, and is so bad all he does at Alabama is drive a van. Been told he doesn’t even time workouts anymore.
My wife dated a guy from Notre Dame before me. Not sure if that means she'd hate living there, love it or be agnostic... If they offer me the same money Carlson is making at Tennessee, I'll ask her. ;)
Sparks won’t make the same smart decision that was made when Notre dame hired Carlson. I would thing Sparks wants a lackey and/or a female with no experience

That's not how hiring at Notre Dame works. He will get input, but the final say on hiring will be the athletic director Jack Swarbrick, who values high quality assistants in all his programs. There is only so much money though, so I will be surprised if whoever comes in under Sparks is an existing head coach.

Carlson was a no name just trying to break into the industry when he started at ND. He worked his way up with all those promotions. Wasn’t like they hired him after he’d had success.
It strikes me that the successful candidate must buy into Notre Dame. Not a negative comment on a fine school. But buying into the culture seems significant.
Entitled rich kids from private Catholic high schools?

That wasn’t my background, but I am also curious what that poster thinks the Notre Dame “culture” is.
Robert Gary was the first named that popped into my mind.
Why would he leave being the head man at Furman to be an assistant at Notre Dame? He's already done the P5 assistant thing & clearly doesn't need back in...
There's a lot of smoke surrounding his wife at Furman. That's why.

You mean the same culture that nurtured and promoted Amy Coney Barrett, the reactionary quasi-cult fundamentalist who is about to overturn Roe? That culture? ND did not wrap itself in glory on that one, that's for sure. Touchdown Jesus would not be proud.

Indeed. I like the parts of the Bible that are in red ink, other don't.
Been a volunteer coach for the past 5 years. Doesn't say much, but maybe I'm totally mis-informed.

Everything you just said is false. Cashberry is a fine coach.

Have you ever stood by this guy at a competition? Or heard him verbally assault his athletes after their poor performances? His outburst at NCAA XC last year was one for the ages.

LOL. What. The AD at Notre Dame only knows a small handful of the assistant coaches in all sports at the school.
