Just because people make predictions does not mean that they are doing it from an emotional standpoint.
just because you don't see haters doesnt meant there isnt, they are hiding coz katelyn just won an ncaa title .. and they swore that she will never get one ..lol
there are a lot of trolls, and rather than judging this site on a single thread, search up older posts and see just how much scrutiny and insults katelyn gets in this site for the past 6 years.... she indeed get a lot of attention, more good but also plenty of insecure and jealous trolls here, the amount of "shes gonna burnout, not gonna pr, not gonna win an ncaa title" could prob get to hundreds of hundreds, and now they are starting with the "not gonna gonna have a pro career, has no future, has awful education" need i say more? body shamed .... disgusting how someone could defend the trolls of this site, yikes.
If you ask "Tuohyfan" it will be streamed by Flotrack. But you will be disappointed if you go there. USATF.TV for Thursday (1500 heats etc), and parts of Friday, Saturday, Sunday. CNBC for remainder of Friday, NBC/USA for portions of Saturday/Sunday including 1500 and 5000 finals

The flaw in his logic is that he thinks she has the potential to run 3:55. I know it doesn't seem that far away from her PR but if she was in a race with a bunch of women who finished from 3:50-3:55 and she ran 4:07, it would be evident how far off of that mark she is. Granted, I think she has the potential to run 2:04/4:02/8:40/14:55 type times which are national class but not 1:57 which is world class. It is an insult to her coach to even suggest it because her coach would ave her running the 800 if she had the potential for sub 2.
She ran 406 leading the whole race from the front...
That is equal to 404 or even 403 high in a well-paced race with faster runners
And she improved from 412 to 4:06 in one year... Basically her first year full year of training after body changes, injury, and surgery...
So you really think she can only increase another two seconds over the next 5 to 10 years of progression
And that's taking into account that shoe technology will only get better and track surfaces will only get faster
Running 355 in 5 to 10 years would be comparable to the athletes who are running 357 currently
I think it's a much more sane approach to say at least there is the potential for steady improvement with a few big increases...
I mean sure our life is unpredictable and there is no guarantee for any one to reach their full potential
But I'm just saying if you look at the recent trajectory, I think 3:55 is a fairly reasonable lifetime potential...
Obviously we will know a lot more with what happens over the next two years...
But again she ran 406 leading the whole race and not even focused on that distance for most of the year so there's way more potential then you guys are admitting...
I mean she doesn't even train for that distance and she was the NCAA best time by 2 seconds! And second place was a 25-year-old!
It's funny but with 2e,. People are saying she basically has very little room to grow, but yet with some other young phenoms the sky was the limit... and they were going to be breaking records left and right!!! I remember trying to talk some sense into a guy, or a couple guys, who kept saying all the high school records we're going to be broken, and the two mile, and girls we're going to run sub 9:30 for the two mile, and three girls we're going to break every record!! And that was in a few months progression!!! But now, and there's a good chance it's the same guy, a young female has very limited potential to improve!!! It's funny how your fanaticism clouds you're thinking and dictates how green the grass is!!!
204, she could run 204 right now, her teammate who she's faster than at every distance ran 204 this year!
Yeah right now there's a bunch of young fast 800/1500 m runners. And there's some good young 5K runners! But she's really the only super fast 1500 / 5K runner around her age... Maybe Starliper can get there but right now! So why not shoot for around the American record in the future! I mean it's a tall order but it's not crazy to say, who knows maybe!
i really hope katelyn feels good for the usatf meet, because that 4:06 looked way too easy on her and would love to see her go low 4:0x
Looks like you’ve given yourself an out.
just not getting ahead of myself because at the ncaa nationals she actually was not feeling well and still ran 15:18 -- so i hope she feels well and better for this meet
