Well Gregory dropped out so I guess we will never know, although I thought Mercy was a lock barring falling on the track. Looked good at the SECs and regionals. But she was one of the clear favorites.
Well Gregory dropped out. Maybe they would have been right. Not sure what they were basing their pick in the 10000 on though. I know who I'm rooting for.
one thing i learned from the distance races of the men is that if you dont have a strong kick, dont run like you have one ... specially when you are running against 6th year - 7th year seniors
little shocked he let it slow down with a mile to go instead of grinding out more 62/63s. Felt like he was running passively but maybe he didn't feel good enough to attack. Leading for 5000m is stupid but so is waiting for the last 400. Need that fast last 1200
He is American. He was born in Minnesota. His parents are from Liberia, so he runs for that country. He was the state champ in MN multiple years in the 100 & 200
How much is Florida paying ESPN? Stones seems only capable of talking about the Gators when Texas has a great chance to win.
Actually, from the time the 400m ended, any chance that Texas would win was slim to none. They had to over-perform in every event after that to have a reasonable shot. In fact, I thought the ESPN crew were too slow to call the title for Florida. They should have stated that it would be over if Fahnbulleh won the 200m and the runner from Texas placed 4th-9th. That would have given us an 11 point lead with only one realistic scoring chance for the Longhorns - the 4x400m. No-one in the announcing booth stated that. We could have sat out the 4x400m and still won the title. 🤷🏽♂️
2:58.85 for the Gators! And Allison ran on the outside of lane 1 the whole way round! lol
That’s how Champion runs his race. He forces the opposition to try and run inside or go around him. At one meet I saw him close that window on the inside when someone pressed and he isn’t a small dude. But I get it…he does add 5m to his leg.
Looks like most of the guys doubling back had a hard time
Sprout did ok but lost just enough to finish 11th, 4 seconds out of 3rd
Sprout 9th . . . ironically, just behind former Stanford runner & graduate Alex Ostberg . . . top guy amongst the 10k/5k doublers . . . and just a 20-year-old soph . . . Hicks, Robinson and Sprout will be a killer xc trio this fall . . .

That is right after they scored big in 100 and 400 the only way they could lose is if somehow both Fahnbulleh and the relay team underperformed big.
