Eliud* Kipsang, not Abel who is preparing for the Oslo Dream Mile.
The NCAA Record curse continues. Essayi likely still banged up from whatever was bothering him at SECs. Three UW milers make it in, gotta feel good for Andy Powell in Eugene
ZERO respect for Essayi.
What a POS, disrespecting his competition and the race.
WTH yeah Kipsang looked like he was going easy! He must have some problem today.

For dropping out injured? He towed the field through and made sure his heat was fast, I doubt those guys are mad at him. Maybe the one guy at home who missed out in the East regional? But Essayi looked great there, so would be hard to blame him for continuing on.
Rooks looked smooth
Why the protest in the 1500? Results aren’t finalized
are we sure he dropped out injured? i know they reported his injury for his reason for skipping SECs, but leading 1200m at NCAAs just to step off the track once you're not top 5 doesn't sound like injury to me. Seems weak and I'm sure we'll hear the injury report now.
Call me an internet warrior (who admittedly doesn't know the full story) but that seemed unbelievably weak and if I were his coach I would be livid to see my athlete step off the track with 100m left with no apparent limp or sudden injury. Especially at NCAAs.
If you're actually injured I know guys and girls will at least hobble their way to the finish. Dude could have cruised it in and probably wouldn't have even been last.
I saw him step off the track on TV
What a time to sheet the bed for Kipsang. Led easily thru 800 in 1:59 and then went straight to the back & finished DFL. At least he finished whereas Essayi just dropped with 100 meters to go & DNFed.
Duncan Hamilton just misses steeple world standard by just over a second.
Mens 1500m under protest as it should be
11 PBs in the steeplechase qualifiers
Who is it? Garcia Romo kinda shoved his way off the rail I saw.
that montana state steeple guy is a class act
George Kusche's name is highlighted on the results, not sure if that means anything
Looks like he & at least 2 others may get the standard in the final on Friday, esp. if weather is conducive.
And a True Freshman in Nathan Green for UW! Anyone who watched him in Idaho last year isn't surprised though.
all for protecting your space but Romo said how dirty it was

Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
