I think he is done. He will keep his scam going for as long as possible. I can't blame him. Who want to take care of 5-6 kids on a daily basis. Going out and run/hike some 14eeners is definitely more fun.
I don’t see any mention of a sacral stress fracture on the Facebook group. Where did you see this?
Seth’s response to Monika’s asking what injury Seth had in the Facebook group:
“Sacrum stress fracture 🙏🏼 I never want to live in fear so taking this injury in stride and looking to the other side of the mountain ⛰ truly appreciate you asking Monika Donlon-Hausammann, the first 🙏🏼🙏🏼“
This might be the best thing to happen to the channel. If he gets a job, starts living like the rest of us, THEN tries a comeback grass-roots style again….
I am a harsh critic of the guy, but a redemption story would be nice. He would have to make a lot of changes. Can he? In my mind, he needs to:
Be himself and drop the whole DEE GEE ARRRR!!! schtick and persona.
Get a real job and begin vlogging about balancing work, family life, and running.
Quit the "mad scientist" BS. Get a coach or buy some books about exercise physiology and proper training.
Program his channel better. Three videos a week: a shoe review, a lifestyle piece, and a weekly update on his training with loads of pretty B-roll and mountain vistas. Three high quality productions and not seven craptastic episodes of just winging it.
Eat right and put on about 5-7 pounds. It will serve him well and his body will absorb the training better.
Focus on getting quality sleep. Cut out the caffeine and staying up all night fretting what you will vlog the next day.
If he does these things and trains in a lower volume/smarter planning sort of way, I wouldn't bet against him breaking 2:20 and becoming a force in master's racing. Or, he should go all in on the trail ultra scene. Either way, I feel that he could be successful and might grow his brand in an epic way. Authenticity and humility will serve him better than the "smiling on the outside, crying on the inside" meltdown that we are witnessing.
This isn't sustainable. He's done shoe-based videos for 11 days. He is lazy. I'm sure there is something else he can talk about.
Thing is, those shoe reviews do pretty well in terms of views. Sure the personal videos about big races or injury announcements do better, but his day-in-the-life videos where there's no drama don't perform as well as shoe reviews. So like maybe he could innovate and find another area of expertise to create content about, but the thing is he doesn't have an area of expertise, he can't even talk about footwear generally unless he has a shoe in his hands to spew nonsense about. (Side note, it's also weird how many people will sit through 10-15 mins of incoherent babbling from someone who wore the shoe for a single run, and literally believe seth gave them good info. Are these people on life support?)
Agree with the better programming. Maybe rather one shoe/gear, one training and one local race/mountain race (either he participating to race or just jogging it to film others). Might as well have the personal stuff in one video so people can skip that all together. I don't want to tune in to watch a caotic household and TL screaming in front of a mountain of food, but it seems like some people love that.
My prediction: Seth starts running after the bare minimum amount of time off recommended, does too much too fast (after being shocked at his fitness losses), and re-injures himself. He's stuck in that yo-yo cycle. He probably thinks he can take 2 months off, take 1 month building back to 100+mpw and be OK for a fall race at this point in peak form.

He got 4 comments on his post about the injury. Nobody cares anymore. He can see it all dwindling away.

Get up before 4, quickly run 60-90 minutes, eat the buttered Bobo or scissored eggs on the way to the office. Consider starting that coffee vlog.
Try and roller the hammies over lunch at the park nearby during lunch.
Get home at 6, run again in the dark if necessary, consider reviewing this headlamp.
Go to the gym after dinner, return at 9:30, edit video until 1 a.m.
I wonder to what extent the whole daily running vlog as a primary source of income actually contributed to Seth's injury. It's pretty ironic really. His channel is probably really going to suffer since he got a serious injury and can't run for a while. But perhaps if it weren't for the channel, he would have been more willing and likely to take a bit of a layoff when he was first hurting before the injury progressed so much rather than push through it due to the need to create more content. In which case, the channel would be in a much better position right now (although still declining, maybe just not as rapidly).
It all comes back to his silly obsession with keeping the daily vlog streak alive. A more sensible person would have seen ages ago the need to reduce the upload frequency to just a few times per week and increase the quality and diversity of the content. But Simple Seth can only fathom running 120 mile weeks, filming multiple angles of every mundane daily task he does like making coffee or opening the garage door, and rambling incoherently in his Shoedio (Shoe-shoe-shoe-dio) without any preparation. I mean he basically said so himself with his "Sabbatical" announcement.
He is the anti Jack Daniels. Where Daniels says to seek the maximum adaptation out of the minimum amount of stress, Seth's approach to training and life in general seems to be accomplish the least with the maximum amount of work and effort.
As an aside: I predict he's going to announce that he's taking on clients for personalized coaching imminently. We know the channel is sputtering lately (his own words) and he's got that big ol' house and ever-growing family to support. Plus, with this injury preventing running for the foreseeable future, he should have more time on his hands. And finally, he seems to be more active in his comments section lately, I speculate because he's trying to "connect" with folks a little bit more right now to give this impression that he'll be a dedicated and responsive coach for when that announcement comes.
I wonder if he'll try to shoehorn coaching and his clients' running into his daily vlogs in place of his own running. I could see him only taking on people who agree to having zoom sessions recorded for the vlog or to making mini vlog style updates on their progress or something for him to feature in his own videos. Idk, but I'm sure he'll figure out some way to make a buck off of some DGR-suckers time/work. At the end of the day, it's all about Seth and only Seth.
