So do the mods, who removed my post regarding their stance on this whole situation from page 1.
Letsrun, BroJos, et al...
You're literally raising funds for a doper, you're going to cop some "haters" when YET AGAIN this ban is upheld. Cut your losses and admit you've been duped this whole time.
I don't think anyone believes the tainted burrito explanation with the exception of a very small number here. Tainted supplements is more plausible and the Ross Tucker piece that he did for Letsrun offers some arguments in support of that. In any event, it doesn't really matter much at this point, it's over.
If it weren't for the frenzied Shelby haters (aka PED haters) no one would read that article at all. Level-headed Shelby critics know what a fair process found, so we don't need to know what some zealot's BS meter thinks.
Nice photo of Jarmila Kratochvílová you posted there, by the way.
Others have said it before but it needs to be said again; she gets vitriol because she is continuing to claim innocence. The media brass isn’t helping because they are enabling this.
“flaws in the system and unjust practices.” the way that she blames everyone else is just gross. She can’t specify what those flaws or practices are. She’s just mad she got caught.
Four years is the current standard ban for intentional doping.
WA/CAS etc. found no reason to lower it (for example, admitting guilt would lower the ban to 3 years, not at fault could go all the way to 0) or to increase it (for example, tampering with the evidence).

Certainly not legitimate supplements. If that were the case Shelby would have tested every supplement she was using and tracked it down.
The only 2 logical conclusions are either:
1. She took the drug on purpose
Or
2. She was taking another banned drug (that she didn't get caught using) and the drug that she did get busted for was accidentally in there.
The AIU and the CAS did what the WADA rules permitted them to do.
Short of WADA reform for these potential accidental ingestion cases, there was little chance of winning on appeal, especially after she essentially gave up one iteration of appeals.
Unfortunately the whole process doesn't give us enough information to determine the real source of the nandrolone, and whether it was truly intentional.
What I find implausible is the prevailing attitude that doping is a rarity at the top of the sport. Athletes who get caught - like Houlihan - thereby become a scapegoat so that we can believe there are few others like her. In truth, she is likely to be indicative of the practice of doping in elite sport, not the exception. So she is pilloried while athletes whose doping has thus far evaded detection are celebrated without a whiff of reservation or even scepticism. Heroes must remain heroes - untainted. Until they fall.
Which ends up with Houlihan is bad, FloJo is good.
It's amazing how so many people are fooled by obvious drug users that have never tested positive.

Let’s be clear. There are way more dopers than Shelby who haven’t tested pos and we all know that. There are runners we know are flat out doping and ones we highly suspect.
Before all this Shelby made me uneasy. Hairline changes, rapid progression, the infamous picture with lopez, a certain dominance in many events, all added up. But she was overshadowed in her event by a more obvious force—sifan Hassan. Sifan makes a mockery of track and field and I actually do think people know it because she should have gotten way more attention for her treble, and didn’t.
if you want me to name more names I will. Shelby is a doper even in a sea of dopers and should be punished. She is not being scapegoated. And I hope we catch more.

Enforcement right now is beyond lame with little hope it will improve. The only way to catch more dopers is to incentive truth telling. If you are caught and immediately admit to the charge and provide corroborating evidence as to the when, where and how, then lower the ban to two years. I think the long run this will better expose the culture of cheating and cheating methods and reduce cheating overall. Do you think if SH was given the choice she would have admitted guilt and then exposed what goes on at BTC, or not? I don’t want to create a Salem witch trials scenario, so anything admitted has to be done with corroborating evidence.
So some of you have moved to tainted burrito was possible to now tainted supplements, huh. Pray tell what will you try next?
Nah, some of us have always been of the mind that she cheated by trying to take something else and are still saying it. Maybe it was a sketchy supplement. Maybe it was something designed to cover something else up. But intentionally taking Nandrolone makes less sense because why take the test in the first place when dodging it won't give you a four year ban? She thought she was good when she peed in the cup, and my guess is that she was taking something she doesn't want to admit, but that Nandrolone wasn't the objective.
This fits the puzzle pieces together more cleanly because it explains why she feels this sense of victimhood and is so insistent. She did something wrong and won't come clean, so I'm fine with the ban. None of this is about trying to get her off the hook. She hitched her wagon to a stupid burrito story and has doubled down on being a martyr. That's on her.
PS. Has anyone started a petition to get all bans from August 2020 to Jujly 2021 knocked down to 3 years so you only miss 1 Olympics? A first time drug ban was never meant to cause you to miss 2 Olympics.
PPS. I mainly just put the PS to get the Shelby haters into a frenzy.
No one "hates" Shelby. We just hate cheating, lying and BS.

But that is already possible! See Gay for example who got his ban reduced to 50% for giving up his coach (with evidence), leading to Drummond's 8 year ban.
Why do you think BTC continues to be so nice to their doper?
