A few of us coaches from around here play a game we call, "this post must be from Brosnan because ______". We text back and forth, cracking each other up with reasons why we can tell an anonymous post is from one of the many Brosnan usernames.
I hope that's a joke and you don't actually do that, because that's pathetic. Surely an adult such as yourself has better things to do with their time than obsess over what you imagine to be another coach's posts.
Ah, right on brand! You may have actually hit several of the points in just 2 sentences. Nice work!
Pathetic, but very fun. We all have guilty pleasures.
And the jealous coach of the year award goes to you! congrats you’re so pathetic you post on letsrun to make yourself feel better when in reality you are hurting inside. Imagine being so jealous of a HS coach and their hard work. Seriously dude look at yourself in the mirror. It’s getting really sad to read your posts.
Move on with your life and stop being obsessed with a HS coach and HS athletes.
Bay Area coach here that has only interacted with Brosnan briefly, but have heard some great stories from colleagues down South and around the state. One of the most satisfying things about Newbury Park posts is knowing how obsessed Brosnan is with the message boards and how personally he takes the criticism. It sometimes makes me giggle picturing him getting all worked up.
A few of us coaches from around here play a game we call, "this post must be from Brosnan because ______". We text back and forth, cracking each other up with reasons why we can tell an anonymous post is from one of the many Brosnan usernames. A few dead give aways are
calling people names
saying everyone is jealous
not responding with data or facts, but just saying your argument or point of view is absurd or ridiculous
judging your overall satisfaction with life because you have a negative opinion of him
suggesting what kind of psychological help you may need because you don't agree with him
saying you don't know the details, but not sharing the details he claims to know
letting you know how your post impacts him, such as he's embarrassed for you or making him sad
Making up information and posting it on Letsrun doesn't make it true. The real facts are if you're a good coach or a good person you're not posting negative things about a HS , College or Pro coach on Letsrun.
Thats the difference between success and failure. If you have a problem with Brosnan why not contact him? I have a few times with questions. Like I said earlier in this post we had light conversation. He was great and I got my answers.
The real reason people like you and others don't reach out to Brosnan and just post about him is because it's jealousy or a problem within yourself. Any good educated person wouldn't just post on here to try and make someone look bad. It's tacky, wrong and 99.9% of the time untrue.

Be a man and grow up. It's really that simple.
So you’re not a good person if you have the opinion they peaked too early and the coach contributed to the miss. Rather than discuss the topic on a running message board where people discuss topics such as these, you should contact the coach to discuss your opinion.

And a chauvinist on top of it. I guess women coaches probably don't know enough to have an opinion or is it that women must not be capable of disliking someone so macho.
Do the kids decide what races they want to run? Just pick and choose ? What happened to the team concept? Sounds like qualifying and doing well at State is no longer the goal. Call me old fashioned as I haven’t followed Ca HS track since 1983. I’m from New Mexico, and it’s very hard to understand how kids decide what races they run while some other teammates run a different meet. A team sticks together led by their Coach. Good values, sportsmanship, discipline and hard work are admirable. But when a coach allows the elite kids to do what they want is unacceptable. What happens to the less talented? It’s hard for me to see these Spoiled ,little rich kids, have access to travel here and there. Eat good foods, have good shoes, good facilities. These kids have no idea how lucky they are. My kids come from families where we don’t have ANY of these that they take for granted. I guarantee the arrogant NP coach would not give me or my kids the time of day if they saw us. I don’t like his attitude or demeanor. His 15 minutes of fame is over.good riddance Coach!
Lots of posters saying that they peaked too early that maybe right for some of the runners. There could also be some things that happened outside of his control that affected their races. But maybe some were not suited for races that are not time trials. Racing is different when not running from the front not knowing that you have teammates to pull you along. California State meet is important to a lot of athletes. But it's also a grinder if you're in the Southern section as there are quite a few races to get there. They are not the first athletes to forego the CA state meet to run post season such as Austin Tamagno. I don't see what is the problem with him letting them decide what they want to do with their season. In many other sports highschool such as soccer the best kids don't play and compete for thier academy team. It's easy to say if they did things differently they would get better results . But that may not be the case. I guess every coach who has a winning team is going to get some hate especially in California. First it was the Arcadia coach, then the Great Oak Coach, and now the Newbury Park Coach.
