coach henes said in an interview they dont usually line up all freshman right away unless they come in a very high level than everybody else, and if they really needed for a freshman to help and contribute, which is what happened to kelsey and katelyn
Are you referring to Sydney Seymour of Tennessee that is from Ohio? Is she the rumored transfer? That makes sense. Coach Henes is a native Ohioan and likes to recruit Ohio runners. She has another big-time Ohio runner coming in next year as a freshman - Grace Hartman of Oakwood. She is a 4:46 miler and has gone close to 17:00 for a xc 5K.
yep her, shes the rumored "transfer" and some so-called insider confirmed it, but like nothing is official of course, and we'll have to wait but yea ... seymour to nc state is the rumor
ohio, north carolina and new york .. thats the frequent locations i see on their rooster
the 2021 and 2022 recruits will have to wait a couple of years to be able to show their prowess, as nc state's recruiting class of 2019 and 2020 recruits are pretty big(many) and strong, the new recruits are quite lucky to come in a time where nc state is u know UP there.
Increasing mileage and faster paces increases the chance for injuries. NC State runs a competitive DI program that attracts Type A runners who will absolutely grind to reach their goals. As a result, the increase in distance, pace, and overall hard work gets them injured. I’d love to see an actual study analyze these patterns, but it seems that if you look across top programs, injuries mostly plague the fastest runners.
Rauber ran unattached and ran about what she ran in hs a couple time and slower a couple times. She may struggle to be top 7 in the fall based on times for spring and if a transfer ir freshman comes in running well.
rauber isnt on the fast running groups yet, coach henes said that an 18 yr old will not be doing the same workout as the senior runners (fr chmiel and tuohy are an exception)
when they up brooke's training im sure she will improve right away, shes fast .. her xc hs times and track times are prettty impressive
And in other news, the sky is up and water is wet.
Rauber turns 20 in July - she isn’t young and has been training at a high level since 6th grade - if she was ready for the top group she would be running in it .
Indeed she wasn't ready to run w the top group but thats no shame, not many can keep up w nc state's top group.. And coach Henes have always said they don't usually use freshman right away unless they come in very high level
Expect rauber to run next season, run meaning she's gonna be at the roster not top 7
Same for the 2022 recruits, I don't think they will run w the top team right away, also they for sure gonna be running unattached their first season too
lol letsrun is an nc state hater, how come this thread gets top 5 and people are not evn discussing about this for a day anymore??? so many other active threads yet they just want this thread to be seen
ew
They have built a great womans distance program including a great "second team" that will never sniff an important meet and would have been wise to go somewhere else for a more respected degree and the opportunity to use their athletic ability in meets. That doesn't mean the second team made a bad decision.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
