i dont see any prices so they are prolly outrageously expensive. well, maybe not the nasal goggle thing. im not sure if i would be able to sleep with that thing on me!
Buy "Altitude Training and Athletic Performance" by Randy Wilber before investing in a tent.

sweet thanks guys.
i talked to someone at CAT and their leases being around $560/mth for the CAT150-9 (their entry level tent). or $5900 to buy. not bad for a serious athlete but for a beer champ there are better things to spend that money on (hint: BEER).
The way to handle CAT is to wait until they change the technology again and you can pick up the lower level tent for a couple of thousand less when it gets put on closeout. Of course you can get a used one off eBay too. They generally have someone auctioning one off each month.

selling CAT tents, good prices, and they rent tents as well.

The problem with those tents is that they do not produce the kind of results that living at the real altitude would give you. "The best thing to do is live up here and train down there". Unless you are spending all of your time in that tent, the results might not be worth the price. Having never used one, I don't know how much, if any results they produce, but I suppose that is one of the things you are probably investigating if you are going to shell out any substantial amount of money for one.
I couldnt find anything on the website about altitude tents...
