Pretty much everyone at my work got the vaccine around March/April of 2021. A couple of the younger guys were sick for a day or so after and most people had sore arms for a day. I think one or two people missed a day of work. A year later everyone's fine as far as I know.
For reference, we had some major vaccine skeptics -- hell, I think Zerohedge is the most widely read publication in the office. But pretty much everyone bit the bullet eventually b/c it was easier than testing every week and let you go maskless.
A couple people in the office got covid before the vaccine rollouts. Most were fine, but a few were sick 2+ weeks and I know of two guys who lost their sense of smell for a couple months.
By now there really isn't any justifiable health reason not to get it. The vaccine doomers are nuttier than the covid doomers at this point. Add it to the pile with your smallpox/polio/whatever have you vaccines and call it a day. If you're skeptical, just get the 1/2 initial doses and skip the nth booster and call it a day.
