Russia will never take trillions from the occupied territories. That's a pipedream. They don't even manage the resources they already have. The occupied territories will just sit in ruins.
And have you ever been to Russia? The poverty there is so much worse than in the US. 20% of the country doesn't have indoor toliets. I lived there for years before the war. My town was in a wealthy area but many people had no running water. They'd go to wells each day. Not that you can drink the piped water anyways. Grandmothers used to sit on the sidewalks all spring and summer trying to sell veggies from their gardens in order to feed themselves...Even well off people made $500 a month. Pensions were worthless.
And healthcare? They aren't even in the top 100 in the world for life expectancy? Drug use is rampant in Russia and the hospitals are complete crap. Have you ever been inside of one?
And this whole Nazi thing, didn't the Russians fight with the Nazis? Didn't they massacre 20,000 poles at Katyn? Didn't they rape their way across Europe, including concentration camp survivors? Aren't they still incredibly racist and anti-semitic?
At the end of the day the war is about Russia thinking they are a superpower and have the right to decide what other countries do. Beating Ukraine isn't winning. NATO is on their doorstep, 100,000s of Russians have fled. Both Ukraine and Russia are dying countries.
