Very well said. Her result was great. To finish a close second in a very competitive NCAA Championship race as a Freshman is an incredible performance.
The kenyans have no shot against the martians. But every thread where some one has a good run its brought up they have no shot against the kenyans. Most great runners of any nationality couldn't beat my dog at any distance, but we still cheer for them and enjoy their success!
he cannot stop posting bad things about tuohy and tuohy makes him mad crazy because she gets better and better and continuous to progress and develop as a runner
obviously by the interviews of katelyn's teammates and coaches, shes such a humble person and works really hard ... 7empest, its ok, you can cry it out
And that deserves an lol. She was clearly 1 and never lost a race. She’s allowed to acknowledge how good she is.
What if they ranked someone ahead of nico young and he commented the same. People would praise him and call him a G and say he was right to speak out.
here’s the thing. When it comes to kt or any girl, it’s actually not about sportsmanship. We don’t do this to boys. We don’t scrutinize how many hands they shook after a race or call them self centered because they’re “in their feelings” after a bad race. we just don’t.
this is about it policing the behavior of girls. A good girl must put everyone in front of themselves. They must put all of their emotions aside even after a bad race and make niceties with the press. A good girl must shake hands with everyone no matter how tired they are or how dry their mouth is because it’s never about them, it’s about everyone else. A good girl must never acknowledge how good they are because that’s threatening to others, so we’ll just call her conceited.
dyestat was stupid to rank anyone above her. Dudek lost a before winning footlocker and tuohy was undefeated. Their margins of victory were the same. Kt should have been ranked first. But we love to see a female phenom crash and burn so when kt had a bad race, dyestat was quick to capitalize on it and rank her as tied.
katelyn tuohy's newest interview with runnerspace together with kelsey is out
she credits her teammates for her getting where she is today and is thankful for them, in all interviews she has always been humble and also credits it all to the team, katelyn hid an injury to be able to help her team win ncaa xc championship
7empest, i dont know what you are trying to do, now that you cannot post negative things about tuohy and her kick and racing strategy, you now start to make it look like shes a bad person .. please u look silly
North Carolina State teammates Katelyn Tuohy and Kelsey Chmiel secured second and fifth place in the women's 5,000-meter final at the NCAA Division 1 Indoor Championships at the CrossPlex in Birmingham, Ala. Tuohy clocked 15:...
And she just came back with a second place in the 3k only by .25 off of Taylor Roe who took the win. Pretty impressive double but so close to victory both times
And she just came back with a second place in the 3k only by .25 off of Taylor Roe who took the win. Pretty impressive double but so close to victory both times
shes 19, shes got plenty of chances
she had the fastest last lap, a blazing 31s, fastest last 400 and fastest last 600
This is typical Let’s run BS when it comes to Tuohy. I actually point out how impressed I am with her growth, performance, and how she has got herself back into her top form again and because I don’t think she is perfect I get near sighted comments? Typical ignorance!
I’m not going to waste my time pointing out the endless examples she did in HS that are on record in races and interviews. But here are a few. In interviews she was often disrespecting other runners by saying she had no competition, hardly ever congratulating her opponents after a race but just walking off the track, when she lost or ran bad she would just walk off the track and not acknowledge opponents and media, but would only be self centered on herself and her feelings. She was just very immature compared to the other elite athletes in her class. Her peers were way more respectful of the sport and each other compared to her (yet many of them were “shy” as well).
As I watched her races and interviews in HS it seemed to me (outside of her results) that she had a lot of character issues compared to her peers. She might have been the best in her class from a results standpoint, but not character.
However, the way she has conducted herself in college, and the last two interviews of hers have been downright impressive. As already stated, I really like the new KT and watching her growth as a person more than a runner. Me personally character in sports with elite athletes is more important than what they accomplish. It is how much judge all athletes I like in any sport. So, now Tuohy has won me as a fan and she did not even win this last race! And I’m a hater???? Whatever!
You don't want to waste your time. Well, you're positively wasting ours.
4 more years? All of the crap you guys give to runners in their 5th or 6th year and now you are projecting her to go 6 years? Somehow the age thing will be okay then though.
she wraps her collegiate career at 23 .. wayment is like 25 ...
Wayment is literally 23. Wayment will finish her college career at 23 (this year).
Abrasive and conceited? That's rediculous! She won most of her high school races and set course records everywhere she went. Her interviews after racing were always extremely well done. She had great composure with intelligent responses. I never once heard her slam another competiter. The only negatives I ever heard from her was about her own performance. She'd set a course record and say how she could have done better. That's not conceit, that's confidence in her ability and work ethic with a drive to do even better. Positive thoughts promoting victory. Some people put up their own roadblocks, not Katelyn. In addition, you get to see her personality on the "Running with da Toad" videos. There's also a video with half a dozen athletes talking about the pandemic. Each athlete had trophies and awards in the background except Tuohy. She must have a warehouse full of them, but they weren't displayed.
The difference in her college interviews is she smiles more. You also see her growth as a human being, but she's got nothing to be ashamed of in her high school interviews. I only wish I could have displayed as much intelligence and composure at that age.
It's true, most of those races were like time trials because she was so far ahead of everyone. In college she's running with more experienced athletes and has had to learn how to race. I'd say her "toolbox" is pretty full at this point. I loved it when she pulled that deft move on Gregory with one lap to go in the 5000 at the indoor championships.
It's challenging to transition from high school to college, but to do it as an athlete with an injury must have been extremely difficult. Then covid and the flu in early 2022. She really came back strong after that. Now she's really hitting her stride (sorry for the pun).
Katelyn Tuohy is a fine individual and possibly the greatest runner on the planet. Rock on Katelyn, whatever you're doing, you're doing it extremely well. God bless you!
